Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher is charging fans £102 to help run his family’s farm.
In recent years, the Andy Sugden actor, 40, and his family have taken on an entirely new challenge after buying a farm in the Peak District – a journey that they have documented on popular ITV series Fletcher’s Family Farm and Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure on the BBC.
He’s also backed a campaign by the Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies) to raise awareness for poor mental health among farmers.
The farming series has generated an entirely new fanbase and now Kelvin and wife Liz have decided to offer a lucky few work experience.
For a £102 ticket, budding farmers can join the couple in running their farm for the day.
‘Come and Farm with the Fletchers!’ they wrote on Instagram.
‘So many of you ask us if it’s ever possible to ‘be a farmer for the day’, well now you can! Spaces are limited but come and join us and muck in!’
Their post continues: ‘You’ll be rolling your sleeves up and doing all the jobs required to run a family farm.
‘From mucking out to electric fencing, and sheep handling to tractor driving, you’ll get a unique and hands-on experience whilst discovering new skills, learning and understanding more about farming. And, of course, having lots of fun!’
Kelvin’s farm is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, in a sprawling 120-acre plot.
It is complete with various barns, a farmhouse, surrounding fields and an under-construction building.
The farm boasts a multitude of animals on the land, including 20 sheep, three pigs and three alpacas.
Taking to Instagram in December 2021, Kelvin announced that he’d bought the farm, sharing a photograph of himself, his wife and their two children next to a tractor.
