Notorious football thug Joey Barton has slammed Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes, labelling her a ‘f****** divvy’ who is ‘infected by a mind virus’.
Barton was well known for his thuggish antics as a footballer and manager and has more recently been making headlines for his behaviour on social media.
The 41-year-old has made a series of wildly controversial posts which has seen Barton face widespread criticism and accused of misogyny and ‘casual racism’.
In one of his most shocking outbursts, Barton, who has become somewhat of a voice for far-right views, compared two female pundits to Fred and Rose West.
Barton has now decided to target Hayes after she was in the news this week for her bust-up with Arsenal Women boss Eidevall.
Hayes recited a poem in her press conference on Friday when asked if she regretted her behaviour in regards to the recent incident with Eidevall.
Reacting to Hayes’ press conference, Barton posted on X: ‘This is up there with (The Office character) David Brent for me.
‘Instead of just apologising for being a n**head and pushing the other fella.
‘She’s tried to go all Eric Cantona (reading from script!) and makes herself look a right f****** divvy.
‘Emma, was one of the very few women who I could have actually listened to a few years back.
‘She’s now clearly infected by the mind virus (were they actually think they’re being taken seriously) and has not been living in reality for a while.
‘She’s literally throw her weight around, distorted reality and will now expect they’re going to take her seriously in the Men’s arena? Crazy interview that. Peak Woke.’
Hayes will leave Chelsea at the end of the season after 12 trophy-laden years in west London, winning six FA WSL titles, five Women’s FA Cups, two FA Women’s League Cups, one FA Women’s Spring Series trophy and one FA Women’s Community Shield.
