Global bot status requests

Global bot status for ChessBOT

My bot has got flag on es, ast, ca, ru, uk, nl, nap, pl, ru. It's an interwiki bot. Thanks Mr.Ajedrez 13:33, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

So, do you think I should do more edits and ask for flag later? Mr.Ajedrez 14:01, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Global bot status for CocuBot

I would like to apply for a global flag for my bot, for interwiki purpose. The bot has made over 86K edits and has 46 flags at the moment. The bot runs daily and is updated every morning – Cocu (d) 20:54, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Global bot status for YukkeBot

I would like to apply for a global flag for my bot, for only interwiki purpose. The bot has flag on ja.wikipedia and zh.wikipedia. it has already made 50k edits for 2-3years. --Yukke123 19:33, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Comment Comment Why do you need a global bot status ? The only project your bot works on are jawiki and zhwiki and they are already flagged there. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 19:40, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
  • I want to edit in global. At first, I'm using Pywikipediabot's interwiki.py and check new articles in other languages everyday. [1] If I will edit in global, it's same process to edit only in jawiki and zhwiki. Sorry for bad English. --Yukke123 20:50, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, but if you want to do global interwikis, you need to work firstly on a more important number of projects. What I advise you to do is requesting local bot status on other wikis and to do approximately 25/30 edits on each project to prove your bot works finely. Not less as it won't be sufficient, not more as your bot could be blocked with the reason "Bot functioning without flag".
See for example the SUL of CocuBot, which is the last approved global bot, if you don't see what I mean. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 11:09, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
  • Oppose Please read carefully the bot policyToto Azéro 11:59, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Not done. Global bots are expected to already be active on several wikis, which is not the case here. The bot already has a local bot flag in the two projects where it is actively working. Jafeluv 08:13, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Global bot status for PixelBot

The Bot is active in several wikis for Interwiki-Linking only (see Bots userpage). It has been inactive for some time and is now active again. Userpage on w:de --Pixelfire 18:57, 22 June 2011 (UTC) (w:de:pixelFire)

IS: Banna úrelt vélmenni svo það þurfi ekki að hafa áhyggjur af þeim í framtíðinni
IS -> translated: Ban obsolete robot so it does not have to worry about the future
PL: ‎inactive former bot account, if you wish to unblock this account, please contact me on my talk page on pl wiki
So, if it's ok, you could unblock it there. :) --Pixelfire 20:14, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Why have you stopped to add interwikis in those projects (is and pl) since 2008 so ? Sorry for asking lots of questions, but I want to understand ;). -- Quentinv57 (talk) 20:36, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
No problem. :) I started a new Job in 2008, so I had not enough time, to monitor the bot. --PixelBot 20:41, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
I actually stopped working with the bot in all wikis in 2008. Not just in pl and is. The admins there just block inactive bots. --PixelBot 20:43, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
If your bot has been inactive for more than three years, don't you think it would be better to check that it runs always correctly first ? I propose you to wait between two weeks and one month. During this time you can repair your bot if needed, and ask local status on projects where global bot is not enabled. What do you think about it ? -- Quentinv57 (talk) 20:48, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, its ok. :) First, I will only work in wikis i am flagged local, so I see the results. Shall I ask here again in one month? --Pixelfire 20:55, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that sound nice to me. Whatever the delay, the more important is that you can check that your bot works as it worked three years ago, and be sure of what it does. If your bot begins to work globally, you won't be able to check every project, and that's important to be sure it works well everywhere.
Good luck and see you in about one month ! -- Quentinv57 (talk) 21:03, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

ChessBOT@cawikipedia

Thanks Mr.Ajedrez 17:42, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

You should apply locally. Ruslik 18:27, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
It is said that interwikis have to be approved here. My bot will only put interwikis. Mr.Ajedrez 20:05, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
This wiki uses the standard bot policy, so either 100 test edits are needed or just a few and a week wait. I count 41 test edits so far, which the few I looked at look good. Please wait one week of make 59 more test edits. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 01:37, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Please note that you always have to create a local user page for your bot so that the local community knows who is the operator and where they can contact you. Merlissimo 15:00, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
User page created. Mr.Ajedrez 18:38, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
I've already done 100 edits. Can the bot be approved now? Mr.Ajedrez 19:28, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

I've already done 95 edits. Mr.Ajedrez 15:25, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
The local request page is here. However, if your bot only fixes interwiki links it can be approved here directly since the project allows automatic approval. Jafeluv 15:31, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Not done, ja.wikipedia doesn't allow automatic approval. -- Màñü飆¹5 talk [es] 20:49, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

VibhijainBot@piwikipedia

There is no local crat and no community. I am a sysop on this wiki. I have just created the stub template and need the bot flag to just add it to all the stubs. It already has a bot flag on Hindi Wikipedia. Vibhijain 14:48, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Please run the bot at slow speed on pi.wiki so we can see some test edits; 50 will do nicely. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 00:41, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
50 test edits have been done on Year articles. You can review them here. Vibhijain 08:29, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Please, post a note on the request page. Ruslik 08:40, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
But its stated above that if a Project has no community, then Stewards can be requested directly. Vibhijain 08:43, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure if this user knows how bot flags work. He has been requesting flags on a couple of dead wikis. Theo10011 13:56, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Its just my bot account for AWB. Vibhijain 14:01, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Actually, the policy requires a local request for bots that don't fall under automatic approval. Jafeluv 15:40, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Looking at the last 500 edits, I concur that Vibhijain is the only real active user. So I'm inclined toward granting the flag sooner rather than later since I see no need for a waiting period and the test edits look good. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 01:43, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
I have placed a local request, But there is no community. Vibhijain 15:48, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Done. No need to wait a full week since there isn't anybody to vote other than you. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 00:46, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

ChessBOT@zhwikipedia

It says in the chinese page that interwiki bots have to be approved here. Thanks. Mr.Ajedrez 13:50, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Please make 100 test edits in the project without a bot flag first, as required by the standard policy. Jafeluv 15:34, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm working on, but it is hard to find links to Chinese wikipedia. Mr.Ajedrez 15:42, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Either 100 edits or edit regularly for at least one week is needed, so you don't need to do exactly 100 edits. -- Màñü飆¹5 talk [es] 20:53, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Any reason why the bot moved the frr: link to the top in this edit? Jafeluv 10:15, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
I don't know why. However, I updated my pywikipedia version after that edit. Mr.Ajedrez 14:05, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
Done with automatic approval as the edits look satisfactory.--Jusjih 13:37, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

ChessBOT@bawikipedia

Interwiki bot. I'll start doing editions. Mr.Ajedrez 14:27, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Not done, as the bot still has zero edits in the project. Please make a new request once the bot has done either 100 edits or has been running regularly for a week. Jafeluv 12:47, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

ChessBOT@iawikipedia

Interwiki bot. I'll start doing editions. Mr.Ajedrez 14:21, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

When are you going to start? If no edits are made by the 13th, then this request and any similar one w/o edits will be archived as Not Done. BTW, you really shouldn't post here until after you have at least some test edits, preferably 100 or more. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 22:44, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
OK - now there are two edits. We need to wait a week or wait until there are 100 or more edits. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 23:40, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Done with automatic approval and satisfactory demonstration for a week.--Jusjih 13:47, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

I requested for local bot flag on this wiki two months ago without any response. My bot did about 82 test edits. This wiki hasn't any bureaucrat, even no local admin. Because there is also not local bot policy i think stewards should decide if i can get local bot flag. Merlissimo 21:01, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
