    The GreenStream System conveys natural gas from coastal facilities in Libya to Italy, via an offshore pipeline (OPL), with associated initial gas compressor station (MGCS) and a receiving terminal (SRT). The GreenStream System is part of the Western Libyan Gas System, which includes: Gas Compression Station at Mellitah (MGCS), aside the Gas Treatment Plant that compresses the Gas to be exported, up to the pressure required for the export to the Italian Gas Transport Network (up to 212 bar max. allowable operating pressure). A single 32” ND Offshore Pipeline (OPL), 516 km long, to export the gas from Mellitah Gas Compressor Station to Italy (Sicily). The maximum water depth along the route is 1150 m. A single 32” ND offshore spur (SPUR), 7.4 km long, laid in the Sicilian shore approach from the Receiving Terminal to a water depth of 19.5 m. Receiving Terminal in Sicily (SRT), to receive the gas from the OPL and to let it into the Italian Gas Transport Network. A reduction and measurement station, located in the district of MGCS, which supplies natural gas to the Libyan domestic Market through Tie-In from GS 24“ to 34” SOC Coastal Line, deliveries to the coastal line up to 15 MSCM with pressure 44 bar

    GreenStream BV and its relevant Branches were established in order to transport of the natural gas from the Libyan coast (Mellitah, at approximately 80 KM west of Tripoli) to the Italian coast (Gela, in Sicily), connecting physically Libya and Italy through the Mediterranean Sea. Main activities include the construction, the ownership, the management and the maintenance of its own assets and the interconnection with the operators upstream and downstream its own system. Main assets are composed by Mellitah Gas Compression Station (MGCS), an underwater gas pipeline 510 Km long and deep down to more than 1127 m (OPL – Offshore Pipeline) and a Receiving Terminal in Gela (SRT – Sicily Receiving Terminal). The shareholders of the Company are Eni North Africa BV (owned by Eni S.p.a.) which owns 50% and NOC (National Oil Corporation) which owns 50%.
