About us

In accordance with the Rail Baltica Global Project implementation structure and the delegation agreement, Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas is the national implementing body of the Rail Baltica project in Latvia. The purpose of Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas is to ensure the development of the assets, services and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of the strategic railway infrastructure of national importance, by implementing common Baltic States infrastructure management model and integration of the Rail Baltica railway line into the Single European Railway Area. Company is a special purpose vehicle responsible for: - Construction of Rail Baltica mainline in Latvia - Acquisition of land and real estate for the construction of Rail Baltica in Latvia - Design and construction of Rail Baltica railway service facilities including passenger and freight stations and terminals - Development of infrastructure management model and delivery of performant railway infrastructure management organization We develop and deliver: - Main multimodal mobility hub in Riga, Latvia - Riga Central station - Air and rail integration - Riga International Airport station - 16 stations – multimodal regional mobility hubs on Rail Baltica in Latvia - Railway infrastructure maintenance facilities in Iecava and Skulte - Salaspils freight station and intermodal freight handling terminal Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas is a 100% state-owned company founded in 2014. Co-financed by the European Union - Connecting Europe Facility (~85%) and Republic of Latvia (~15%).
