Cameron Diaz adds red to her Avaline Wines
One of America’s favorite actresses, Cameron Diaz, cares about what she put on and in her body. As a wellness author, Cameron Diaz and her friend and entrepreneur Katherine Power (of Who What Wear and Versed Skincare fame) are the co-founders of an organic and vegan wine, called Avaline.
These two dynamic ladies immersed themselves into the wine world and discovered everything from farming, harvesting, pressing, bottling, marketing and selling wine. In the process, they discovered that most wine is not made from organic grapes, and that wines can be manipulated with over 70 additives.
They traveled to Spain and France to find winemakers who grew grapes with low-to-no irrigation in certified-organic vineyards. These farmers ensured they farmed without chemical pesticides. During production, Avaline’s winemakers use as few ingredients as possible to make a vibrant, fresh and clean tasting white and rose’ wine. Now they are debuting their Avaline Red.
Avaline’s success since the launch of Avaline White and Rosé have sold over 120,000 bottles since it’s debut this summer 2020. Their Avaline White is the top 10 best-selling white blends in the ultra-premium category through a four week period ending August 8th (Nielsen, USxAOC). It’s a dry Spanish wine with bright notes and a fresh finish and an ABV 11.5%.
Their Avaline Rosé continues to sell at a steady pace each week with close to 1,000 re-orders and counting. Wine drinkers appreciate this light French wine made from Grenache, Cinsault, Caladoc, Syrah & Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with notes of citrus and melon and an ABV 13%.
Both the Avaline White and Rosé have also received recognition from top reviewers such as Anthony Dias Blue of The Tasting Panel who rated the wines 91 and 90 respectively.
“Avaline is performing very well with the Wine.com audience, specifically attracting the quintessential millennial consumer. To have nearly 4,000 of our customers purchase this item in an eight-week period is a rarity,” says Michael Osborn, Founder & Executive Vice President of Wine.com. Avaline continues to sell at a steady pace each week with close to 1,000 re-orders and counting.
“We believe in bringing cleaner options to our shelves so Avaline is a perfect fit,” says Kevin McCarthy, Category Manager: Adult Beverage at Fresh Thyme Market, “We displayed it prominently in our stores throughout the summer, selling almost 2,000 units since it went chainwide. By attracting a balanced consumer, Avaline has the potential to disrupt the market with its clean, simple label.”
Social media savvy, Avaline developed a strong and passionate community of more than 58,000 Instagram followers, and with the viral TikTok #avalinewinechallenge, an additional 10 million consumers were engaged across various platforms. Fans requested a red option, so Power and Diaz accelerated their Red launch to offer more delicious options for autumn.
Avaline Red will be available from select retailers in early October with additional distribution to come. Follow Avaline on Instagram here or visit www.drinkavaline.com to stay updated.
