The trade mission to Canada 🇨🇦 came to an end with 2 last intense days in Toronto 🍁. The #cybersecurity delegation was able to discover the Ontario ecosystem and identify the similarities between the 2 markets. Mark Tse welcomed our delegation at the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario | Agence fédérale de ... to share his long experience of the Canadian cybersecurity ecosystem. The discussion allowed for the identification of partnership and collaboration opportunities. The team was then hosted by Quantum Bridge at the University of Toronto. The mission concluded at the Accelerated Cybersecurity Training Program, Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, where our delegation got to see their #CyberRange and discussed and shared practices on the support programmes designed to encourage innovation in cybersecurity. Since 20 years, Pascal is involved in the main cybersecurity initiatives of the Luxembourg Government, CYBERSECURITY Luxembourg, the national platform to foster and empower the Luxembourg Ecosystem in the field of cybersecurity, being his latest achievement.   In 2002 he joined the Luxembourg Government, as advisor and project manager in the area of network and information security for the Ministry of the Economy.   🏆Laureate of the Information Security Personality of the Year award in 2017, Pascal Steichen has dedicated his professional career to cybersecurity. In 2022 he was elected as the first chairman of the ECCC (European Cybersecurity Competence Centre), which evolved into the National Cybersecurity Competence Center (NC3).   🎓 Alongside his professional activities, Pascal is a lecturer at the University of Luxembourg and a member of the Luxembourg Cybersecurity Board. Day 2 of the trade mission to Canada took place at the InCyber Forum Canada for the #cybersecurity representatives. Luxembourg was honoured to meet with its friends from Quebec to discuss bilateral and international collaboration. Kogue Dominique participated in a panel discussion about the protection of critical infrastructures, cross-analysis of regulations C26 (🇨🇦) and NIS2 (🇪🇺). Dominique described his vision of NIS2 as a business enabler, bringing a huge impact on SMEs. He explained how Luxembourg is providing financial and technical support (such as easy-to-use assessment platforms, technical expertise, dedicated tools and ready-to-use processes) to SMEs. This morning the Luxembourg 🇱🇺 Trade Mission to Canada 🇨🇦 officially kicked off in Quebec with a business forum where Kogue Dominique recalled that Luxembourg was the first country to consider cybersecurity as an economic asset more than 20 years ago and explained how Luxembourg continuously supports innovation in this field. Because trust is at the foundation of any valuable economic relationship, Francois Thill, Cybersecurity Director at the Ministère de l'Économie - Luxembourg, demonstrated how reliable the Luxembourg ICT ecosystem is. The business forum was followed by a BtoB matchmaking session, which allowed for inspiring and fruitful exchanges. Looking forward to day 2 tomorrow at the InCyber Forum Canada! Under the motto ‘Knowledge is the power to prevent computer security incidents’ the Fondation Restena organised the 7th #cyberday_lu, the annual cybersecurity event for research and education in #Luxembourg.
