Meet Andrej - our talented Project Manager currently in charge of ship-hull work. 🎓 Like many young professionals, Andrej started out with a solid education background: Bachelors and Masters in Shipbuilding design. He was introduced to Marino Group while working in France: "One day I received an offer: to work as a Foreman for Marino group in France with the prospect of returning to Lithuania, to the Klaipėda office. The conditions were really good, so I thought to myself: Why not?" 🚀 We certainly kept up with our promise - after quickly becoming Head of Region Andrej was eventually invited back to Klaipėda to further his experience as a Project Manager. One trait that the professional is often praised for - his "human-first approach" when managing large teams abroad: “You need to give individual attention to your team. Sometimes you need to ask how things are going, sit down together for a coffee, give advice or just listen sincerely. You don’t always have to be a strict leader." The client was very nice, always communicated with us, asked us how we were doing. In general, the whole team was warmly welcomed, so we did our best to show our skills, and in the end we received excellent feedback." 🛠️ Dovydas says that his team even uses these acquired skills back at home on personal projects! Can a fail become a success? We're continuing our #SalesStories with Aleksandra. 💭 "I met this new client in the Netherlands through LinkedIn a while back (they work with industrial projects). We agreed on 10 professionals from our side, but due to miscommunication from both sides we had lost the deal. Since I'm a persistent Sales Manager, I continued our talks and the client gave us a second chance. We agreed on 5 professionals and additionally we sent the Regional Manager to the project site. Lo and behold the client asked for 10 more people and we're still working there to this day. This situation has shown that miscommunication within operation departments doesn't necessarily mean the end of a deal . "Getting to know each other in person builds trust, which means we can achieve better results together", - says our Business Development Manager Egidijus after his client visit in Belgium and the Netherlands. 👉 Egidijus brought some exciting news regarding upcoming projects: "We are planning to undertake the construction of a catamaran for a private client, a military project, we'll also send reinforcements to existing clients and a new partnership is underway for ship repair works." Talking business is not the only thing that Egidijus did during his trip: "Being from Lithuania, I love to travel and this time I had a chance to become a tourist for at least a few hours. It was eye-opening to experience the Dutch as well as Belgian cultures, which I believe helps me become a well-rounded Sales professional. Meeting clients in person is my preferred form of communication - you can't really compare it to emails or phone calls."
