🏌️♂️ What an amazing day we had at the 2024 BMI Alumni Golf Tournament Powered by SME Bank! We are excited to share that this was the third annual tournament, and this year was special as it was the first time the event was open to both BMI Alumni and golf club members. A total of 72 players participated, making it our largest event yet! By opening the tournament, we aim to expand networking opportunities and foster new connections, striving to build relationships that extend beyond the borders of the BMI community. 🎉 A big congratulations to our winners: Stroke Net Men Category: Valdas Butvilas Stroke Net Women Category: Asta Pratusevičiūtė Stableford Overall Category: Luka Pacauskaitė Stableford BMI Category: Andrius Bagdonavičius Additionally, all the winners were awarded an exclusive opportunity to study one of BMI’s modules in either Vilnius or Brussels! Exciting News! We're thrilled to announce the winners of the BMI Alumni Annual Awards, celebrated during the unforgettable BMI Alumni Gala event on Thursday evening. These awards reflect the voice of BMI alumni community, who voted for the winners. Best Public Speaker: 🔹Dovile Burgiene (Class VIII) For her unwavering efforts in creating a society free from gender stereotypes and empowering women in leadership. Dovilė champions women leaders, ensuring their voices are heard and accepted as the new norm in society. Alumni Partnership: 🔹Žilvinas Kulvinskis (Class X) and his course mate. For founding and growing their joint venture, Chazz Chips. As Žilvinas says, "CHAZZ was born because the founders met in the classroom. We share values, knowledge, and ambition to make snack shelves interesting again. It’s the air we breathe every day." Impact Award: 🔹Vytautas Benokraitis (Class XIX) For leading the "(Ne)matomi" initiative: their efforts in raising awareness and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities. Through their work, they have united 27 organizations, published over 250 pieces of content with millions of views, and sparked tangible changes in society. Their commitment to creating a more inclusive world makes them a deserving candidate for the Impact Award. Career Progression: 🔹 Justas Plankis (Class XII) In 2023, Justas was promoted to General Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific Baltics, a leading Biotech/Life Sciences company, after his successful tenure as the Manufacturing Operations Director for Genetic Sciences. In 2024, he expanded his role within the organization by being appointed as Chairman of the Board. Best Entrepreneur: 🔹 Antanas Laurutis (Class XXIII) As the CEO of Altechna, Antanas played a crucial role in a significant M&A deal. Under his leadership, Altechna successfully acquired Alpine Research Optics, a renowned provider of laser optics and optomechanical assemblies based in Boulder, Colorado. This strategic acquisition has led to notable growth, an expansion of offerings, and a stronger market position for Altechna. This marks a historical milestone for the Lithuanian laser community as the first acquisition in the US market. Dedication to the Country: 🔹 Aivaras Kašuba (Class XXI) For his outstanding commitment to serving the nation as the Lithuanian Defense Services COO. He has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to helping Ukraine in its time of need, with Lithuania becoming a Repair Hub for Ukraine's tanks. His ability to prioritize and allocate resources effectively ensures that support reaches those who need it most, making a tangible difference in the lives of people affected by various challenges.
