A Safe Haven for Newborns Celebrates 23 Years of Saving Lives at Annual Gala

The nonprofit organization seeks support for its mission through sponsorships, ticket purchases, auction items or donations.

The 12th Annual A Wonderland in Safe Haven Gala, hosted by A Safe Haven for Newborns, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the InterContinental Miami. Lauren Pastrana of CBS 4 will once again serve as Mistress of Ceremony for this year’s gala, which will celebrate 23 years of saving lives.

The event will showcase the real-life impact of A Safe Haven for Newborns through heartfelt testimonies from Safe Haven babies who have grown up under the love and care of their forever families. Nick Silverio, the founder, fondly recalls the first Safe Haven baby, Carol Gloria, who firefighters gave this name in tribute to Carol City and the Glory of God. Carol shares the same name as Nick’s late wife, Gloria, whose memory inspired the establishment of A Safe Haven for Newborns.

The upcoming Gala will include a silent auction showcasing a variety of items such as artwork, trips, jewelry, dining experiences, adventures and more. The silent auction is scheduled to commence at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18

A Safe Haven for Newborns is committed to putting an end to infant abandonment. Over the last 23 years, they have upheld this commitment and are proud to have rescued 407 newborns from abandonment while assisting over 6,000 women and girls in crisis.
