In our culture, we place tremendous value on continuous learning and development. A crucial component of L&D is mentorship and the sharing of personal experiences with colleagues who are working to build successful careers. This is the essence of our 'Mentor Mash' experience, which recently culminated. The first cohort consisted of 26 pairs of mentors and mentees from across the organization who spent the last six months learning and growing in their roles. The closing ceremony featured a keynote address from Rehan Anthonis, Head of People Operations at Sysco LABS, who discussed the value created by the program. Mentees Menusha Prithiviraj and Senuri Hettiarachchi shared their experiences with mentorship, while Kalana Dias (PMP, ACP, CSM, SAFe®, CGMA) and Amodh Jayasinghe spoke about the fulfilling nature of being a mentor. A big shout-out to all the mentors and mentees who participated in the program!

We are honored to be recognized as one of Sri Lanka's most outstanding women-friendly workplaces by the Women Friendly Workplace Awards. Organized by Satyn Magazine Mag in collaboration with CIMA and AICPA, these awards celebrate organizations that excel in championing women in the workplace. This recognition follows a year of significant growth for our women empowerment initiatives at Sysco LABS. We introduced Sysco LABS APEX, our women in leadership program, which trained 60 women to become impactful leaders. Additionally, we continued to ensure that women at Sysco LABS have direct access to global female leaders within Sysco’s technology organization, fostering connections and growth. We also updated key policies to support women in the workplace, encouraging their retention and leadership advancement. The Sysco LABS Women's Forum provides a space for women to discuss shared experiences and gain valuable insights. With these initiatives and more planned, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment that empowers women to lead and excel.

We were excited to host this year's cohort of FastTrack undergraduates for almost a week of insightful sessions that shed light on the technology industry and its opportunities while providing participants with the essential knowledge to succeed once they join the workforce. The FastTrack Summer Internship Program offers a select group of undergraduates the chance to gain firsthand experience in the corporate world through a four-week internship, designed to provide experiential learning opportunities by exposing them to diverse industries and pioneers in Sri Lanka's leading corporates. This year, the hosts for the program were Sysco LABS, John Keells Holdings PLC, and Brandix. We were proud to represent the tech sector, showcasing the endless possibilities within the global foodservice industry.

Looking back at yet another impactful GLO outreach session! This time, we engaged with enthusiastic and socially conscious undergraduates at the University of Colombo. Sysco LABS' GLO ambassadors—Amodh Jayasinghe, Nilanka Wijesooriya, Anushka Samarasinghe, Pasan Senevirathne, and Gayan Ranaraja—shared inspiring insights on contributing to a more sustainable future. Team A from Sysco LABS reached the Quarter Finals and Team B made it to the Pre-Quarter Finals. Addressing over 200 Data Science undergraduates, Janith shared valuable insights into the pivotal role of thorough Big Data testing in ensuring innovation and success.
