We're super proud of our Badminton superstars and their performance at the recent MBA Inter-firm Teams Championship 2024! Our Mixed Doubles team featuring Dilupa Marasinghe, Chinthalanka Wijesinghe, Isuru Sawkenda, Sanara De Silva and Dinalie Fernando emerged Champions n the H Division. In the Men’s Category, Team A secured Runners Up in the G Division, with members Dilupa Marasinghe, Kenath Perera, Chinthalanka Wijesinghe, Isuru Sawkenda, Viraj Kanakaratne and Milroy Fernando. Additionally, our Veteran’s Team B reached the quarterfinals in the C Division, while both Women’s teams also made it to the quarterfinals in the E Division. Well done to all participants!

Sysco LABS Cricket has clinched the IT Industry Indoor Cricket Fiesta Trophy for 2024, marking our second consecutive championship! Led by captain Gevin Batuwangala, we delivered an impressive batting performance and then bowled our way to victory in the final. A huge shoutout to Pasindu Hewa Gamage for his standout performance, earning both the Player of the Final and Best Batsman awards, with Hasini Weerasooriya being named Best Female Player!

Congratulations to the Sysco LABS Table Tennis team for their incredible success at the Mercantile League Team Championships which concluded recently! Tamilchelvan Dharmalingam, Raj Miandad and Malinga Jayalath were champions in the Men’s E-Division while Sandunika Dissanayake and Varniah Kangeswaran were named 2nd Runners-up in the Women’s B-Division and Pemidu Peiris, Danuja Kalugamaaarachchi, Sumith Rohana were named 2nd Runners-up in the Men’s D-Division. Well done team!

We recently concluded our 6th Guiding Leadership Outreach (GLO) session for eager undergrads from NSBM Green University. Students engaged with our GLO resource persons and thought about actionable ways to impact communities!

At our recent flagship annual awards ceremony Blueprint 2024 - we recognized exemplary achievements by colleagues across several different categories. We celebrated excellence in Engineering, Quality Engineering, Technology Operations and Enablement with the coveted 'Hall of Fame' awards - awarding teams who have gone above and beyond to deliver value and drive excellence. We also celebrated loyalty, awarding over 60 5-year awards, 3 10-year awards and even recognizing one colleague for 15 years of dedication to the company. We also recognized colleagues who have taken the court, track, pool, pitch and field by storm - awarding colours to those who excelled in the Mercantile sporting arena. Celebrating those colleagues who help us by being brand advocates - we awarded 3 'Brand Champion' awards while celebrating colleagues who did the Sri Lanka office proud - excelling at the Sysco Technology Hackathon 2024 - a global competition. Congratulations to everyone who took home awards this year!

We recently hosted a special learning session at Sysco LABS - the Datadog & Observability Learning Series! Organized by the Platform Services and Digital Infrastructure business unit, this two-day workshop featured in-person insights from the Datadog team, covering key topics like dashboards, monitoring and incident management.

We conducted our GLO (Guiding Leadership Outreach) program for students from the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT Campus) recently. At the sessions held at Sysco LABS HQ, students learnt leadership lessons on how to build sustainable communities in the spirit of our purpose - connecting the world to share food and care for one another.
