Introducing Ocean Strainer 37, installed at Boralesgamuwa Lake, our first ever Ocean Strainer dedicated to a delicate lake ecosystem! Boralesgamuwa Lake is part of Colombo's wetland complex and plays a vital role in flood control, water purification, and biodiversity. 🌍 This lake is a haven for diverse flora and fauna, integral to tourism and local livelihoods. 💧 Unfortunately, it is threatened by suburban development and pollution, especially plastics. Our project aims to combat plastic pollution and enhance biodiversity, pioneering a new era of lake conservation! 🐟 #OceanStrainer #BoralesgamuwaLake #LakeConservation #MASFoundationForChange

Lunawa Lagoon is home to many species of Lankan marine life. The lagoon produces a yearly flux of 20,000 kg of waste into the ocean. 🌊 But there was still hope as the Foundation geared up for action! 🌟 From clean ups to tree plantation, waste cage installations to Ocean Strainer installations, we are on a mission to restore this aquatic ecosystem. With partners like Parley providing clean up gear and Cargills offering sustenance, we are armed and ready! A united front of donors for the Ocean Strainer including Rotaract and others, alongside government allies like the Moratuwa Municipal Council and SLLDC, we intend to make a full restoration. 🤝 Together, we are making a difference at Lunawa lagoon! 🌊 Keep an eye out if you want to be a part of the next clean up at Lunawa.
