Zippity-doo-da! Zippity-Ay! My, oh My... What a wonderful Day! Plenty of sunshine...

Um... it's been raining and snowing EVERYWHERE, even here in "Sunny" Southern California! and I'm only about an hour away from Disneyland!!!

Anyway... We've needed the rain SO bad, so really... I'm pretty glad (plus I love SOUP, and it's totally that kind of weather!)...

SQUIRREL!!!

Back to my post... ahem... So... I still can't find my cord (for my Cricut Explore [either one of them] from back in NOVEMBER) so I'm doing a blast from the past... totally still Disney related!!!
Way Back in 2012 it wasn't THAT long ago, We took a little trip (only an hour away...). To Disneyland! Marissa wanted ALL of the Disney Princess Autographs and hell if I was paying their high prices for autograph books... So, I took the Mickey head and input the word "Disney" and the year (from the Mickey Font). I welded the year together... but was careful not to weld anything else...
This, my friends... is a cardstock-covered double cereal box concoction! Yes! You say THAT fast 5-6 times...
I even made sure I lined the inside and signed it... Maybe I should've signed it "Mom" but I didn't... obviously...
I used the We R Memory Keepers Bind-It-All. (It really, REALLY does!) I've had it for years and love it.
The characters loved it, too! Here are two special signatures she got that day... those lines are WAY longer than anyone really wants to stand in, so that's mostly what we did that day...
Can YOU figure out whose beautiful script this is?

As you can see... I've been a repurposer and "responsible crafter for years now... Yes... I'm totally rationalizing my hoarding and my expensive habits... Don't judge, Judy! No matter what, I'll always be a recycler, too. Again... rationalizing my pack-rat habits and saving everything habits...  One day, I'll even get those pictures in there, too! I just have to locate them, first...

Up next is Sarah! Where she'll splash a little more Disney Magic on YOU!
Here's our line up in case you get lost:

Paper Hoarders DT: Sunglasses/Bright Challenge

Gosh... summer is flying by. Ouch. And I haven't done much, if anything of what I'd goaled to do. Huh. Go figure.

Anywho... the challenge today over at the Paper Hoarders was to make something sunglass-y and/or bright. I chose... the sun! He's a bright ball of fun. Put on your sunglasses, ma peeps, as it's gonna be a bright one today!

Spellbinders dies in 2 sizes, off set, then backing of a larger dotted circle and front of a circle, too (Cricut cuts, ya know!). Thought I'd make him into a tag, so I could utilize this bright orange ribbon that I've been hoarding (Ribbon Hoarders... come and find me!)

Then I layered them all, stamped his cutesy-pie face with a Peach Keen Stamp, highlighted with chalk (the cheeks) and Stickles and called it a day then stamped the back with a bunch of journaling lines to make the tag a little more purposeful. Gotta love it!

You, too, can join the challenge. Please visit Miss Tanya's blog, and there will be ALL the links for everyone else, too! Schmooz through and enjoy a cool drink while you experience the bright talent of all these wonderful crafters!

Paper Hoarders Design Team Challenge: Back-to-School (with a RULER)

Ok... so... the first post I did (which you WON'T see until next week) was a layout. And why won't you see it... yet? Because, I'm a total nerd/dork/goober, whatever you wanna call it and didn't even think that I couldn't make a layout. Why not? Because I am on the everything BUT a layout team. That team does it next week. Dweebie me! and so... I killed two birds in one night.

Throwing an idea together... I didn't want to do a card. Everyone was already doing cards, and I wanted to be a little different, plus... my fabulous idea (see next week's post!) kept glued to my head.

Now, bear with me, as Blogger won't seem to let me finish uploading photos, but if (I'll keep trying throughout the day!) it'll let me finish without kicking me out, they'll all be up before you know it.

And so... I ran from Back-to-School Night (at the high school), because yeah... we've been in school for 3 weeks now... to Walmart. Try to look for a wooden ruler there... NOT! because they just plain don't have any...

So... I got this super flimsy plastic ruler from Fiskars. Red, for the apples... I looked for green, but no such luck... WHY? Probably because that's what I'd set in my mind...
and I used my Silent Setter to punch holes in it. Teeny tiny holes so I could thread these white cup hooks in... (starting at the 1" mark and continuing at the odd inch marks... there's 6 in total)
Then I punched holes in the upper corners using my Big Bite!
See? and my husband said I needed to use a drill... um... I guess he doesn't understand MY kinda toys... uh, huh...

Threaded simple yellow ribbon through...

Cut out "WELCOME" in Plantin' School Book (in black card stock) and added a little chalky-chalky...

Added some black-backed (had to, on account a the ruler was already red... spoilin' ma plans!!!) red ripe shiny apples (used Colorbok shiny paper for these!) with a couple of little green leaves, and

Voila!

The teach now has an awesome little hanger for hall passes, office passes, keys, etc.

I'm sure she'll just love it! Hope you do, too!

And if you'd like to join in the fun-ee-oh!, swing by Miss Tanya's blog and she's got a little line-up going for you. Don't forget to do the challenge yourself... we all had fun doing it!

***Woohoo! The pics are all finally up... just a little add-on here...
To do the chalk letters, I kept them on an older mat and chalked them while still on the mat (after taking off the negative paper), makes it MUCH more easier.  Also, I realized I forgot to add that I cut a strip of craft paper, painted it blue, then the edges green and fastened it on in orange eyelets. Thank goodness the Big Bite goes through this stuff!!!
