HEC Montreal was founded in 1907 as a Canadian business school located in Montreal. It was the first Management and Business School in Canada, founded by the Metropolitan Montreal Board of Trade. In 1932, the School partnered with Harvard University to implement the Case Method, the first of its kind in Canada and in 1943, the first woman was enrolled. The EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), the Association of MBAs (AMBA), and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) have all given their stamp of approval. Universities Canada, the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE), and the Canadian Bureau for International Education are all affiliated with the school (CBIE). A top-ranking Business School, HEC Montreal ranks among the top 5 in Canada and among the world's best 100 universities for Business education according to major league tables.
Infrastructure, Campuses and Courses
The school's main building is located on the Cote-Sainte-Catherine Campus. The building, which opened in 1996, includes cutting-edge classrooms with advanced technology and services. The business school provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the field of Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Administration, Master of Management and Doctorate in Administration. In addition to these, the business school also offers a joint executive MBA program in collaboration with McGill University. The university was considered as first among the various business schools of Canada for MBA programs. The college offers many programs for the students like BBA, professional certificates, MSc in Administration, professional masters, Masters in International Arts Management, graduate studies diploma, short graduate programs, and professional education programs. The MBA program at the School ranks #2 in Canada according to Bloomberg Businessweek, and at #84 globally in The Economist's rankings. In 2016 the business school was ranked 17th worldwide by Forbes among non US Business schools. HEC Montreal is also among the World's 100 Most Prolific Business Schools for the number of publications and is 8th in Canada for Employability. The endowment value of the HEC Montreal is CAD 127 million. There are more than 87000 alumni of the university. There are over 14,299 students enrolled at HEC Montreal, out of which 3,746 are international students who represent 142 countries on the campus, making up 26% of the student body. 37% of the students come from Africa, 13% from Asia, while 38% of the students attend the School from Europe. The school's ethnically diversified population benefits from the country's most extensive International Exchange program for Business students. There are approximately 10,521 undergraduate students and 3,708 post-graduate students enrolled. Desjardins, Deloitte, KPMG Canada, National Bank of Canada and other companies recruit graduates from HEC Montreal.
