Apertura[1] in musica est exordium dramatis musici[2] vel exordium melodramatis,[3] compositio, quae olim instrumentale operae initium fuit.[4] Verbum autem Beethoven, Mendelssohn, aliique aetatis Romanticae compositores adhibere coeperunt ad libera se-constituentia opera programmatica instrumentalia attingenda, quae genera sicut poema symphonicum praesagiebant. Aperturae operaticae "primum haud dubie ad caput programmatis cani destinata" sunt.[5][4]
