The position
As a Communications Lead, you will manage and secure Novo Nordisk’s reputation in South Korea through communication and media relations, enhance leadership's media engagement capabilities, oversee the commercialization of key brands with a focus on obesity, drive disease awareness campaigns, and develop internal communication strategies to aid in employer branding.

Other role expectations are as follows, but is not limited to:


  • External Communications: Develop and execute communications strategies to help with brand commercialization and business strategy, ensuring alignment and consistency across all internal and external communications. Manage media strategy in South Korea, build relationships with local media, and position Novo Nordisk as a leader in chronic diseases. Oversee organization's branding campaigns and maintain systems for smooth communication operations.
  • Issues Management and Communication Planning: Identify potential business threats and opportunities, develop action and communication plans, provide counsel during crises, and lead issue response and risk identification.
  • Agency and Budget Management: Manage external vendors/agencies to ensure high-quality, timely execution of communications strategies. Oversee budget management, performance reviews, vendor selection, and adherence to business ethics, local law, and internal guidelines.
  • Internal Communication: Develop key messages and positioning for NN leadership, drive employer branding for South Korea, and create content to drive awareness and company culture through various media channels.
  • Adherence to CVI Guidelines: Ensure adherence to company's Visual Identity (VI) guidelines, act as VI expert for South Korea, and conduct CVI training for employees as needed.



Qualifications


  • University graduate: communications or journalism qualifications preferred.
  • Over 7 years of in-house pharmaceutical communications experience, including communications planning, media and public relations, issue management, and internal communications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills; strong copywriting and presentation abilities; adept at utilizing and evaluating social media and digital content.
  • Proactive self-starter with good personal impact, networking skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in matrix organizations, managing global projects, knowledge of diabetes and obesity therapies, fluent in English, and willing to travel internationally.
