Reflecting on my time in #Kenya as a Norec participant, I've seen firsthand the incredible impact of bringing farmers together for training on marketing and agriculture value chains. What has truly surprised me is the sense of community that has developed among these farmers. After each training session, they don’t rush home; instead, they take the time to connect, share stories, and support one another. It’s heartwarming to witness how they’ve become a family. Here’s a glimpse of the Hera Women group engaged in meaningful conversations after our latest session. 🌍✨ Excited to share my journey in Meru, Kenya, where I've been part of an exchange program since January by Norec through PELUM Kenya Association and @FACHIGTrust Zimbabwe. Attached at Ciford Kenya in Tigania East I’ve been working with the rural farmers of Meru in their self-help groups. It's been a privilege to train these rural farmers on agricultural marketing and value chains and to learn from their context. This experience has deepened my understanding of the challenges and opportunities in agriculture, and agroecology and I’m inspired by the resilience of these communities Tigania being a dry area☀️. The communities have been welcoming, accepting, open minded and willing to learn something new making it much easier to work with them. Together, we’re working towards sustainable growth and innovation in farming and achieving market accessibility for organic agriculture products 👨🌾🥒🥦🍅for small scale farmers.
