Naujienų portalui 15min Tomas Sudnius pasakojo, kodėl paliko darbą Kalifornijos Silicio slėnyje ir pasirinko verslui netikėtą kryptį – Keniją, apie ten mokamus atlyginimus, būsto su baseinu ir namų tvarkymo paslaugų kainas, kuo ypatinga verslo aplinka Afrikoje. „Dažnas tautietis apie Afriką galvoja kaip apie vieną regioną. Mes darome tą pačią klaidą kaip amerikiečiai galvodami, kad visa Rytų Europa yra vienoda. Afrikos šalys yra labai skirtingos ir turinčios savų niuansų. Žmonės irgi labai skirtingi. Mūsų įmonė dirba šalyse (Kenijoje ir Ugandoje), kuriose yra saugu ir kuriose yra palanki verslui aplinka. Tai turistų pamėgtos šalys – draugiškos atvykėliams iš kitų kraštų. Į Afriką atvykau daryti rinkos tyrimo. Važiavau su standartiniu lietuvišku nusistatymu, kad ten bus pavojinga, purvina ir nemalonu būti. Praleidus Afrikoje du mėnesius žinojau, kad ten grįšiu. Nustebino ten esančios galimybės kurti verslą, draugiški ir protingi žmonės, fantastiškas klimatas, dinamiška aplinka. Buvo labai įdomu. Grįžęs į Kaliforniją susirinkau daiktus, įkalbinau keletą lietuvių draugų kartu kurti verslą Afrikoje ir pradėjome dirbti būdami „Eleving“ įmonių grupės dalimi. Vilniuje atidarėme valdymo ir paslaugų centrą, kuris palaiko ir valdo mūsų verslus žemyne“, - pasako Tomas Sudnius. Pasak jo, įmonė Afrikoje teikia paskolas automobilio ar motociklo įsigijimui, bei paskolas verslo vystymui įkeičiant kliento jau turimą transporto priemonę. Vien Kenijoje turime 750 darbuotojų ir beveik 50 tūkstančių klientų. Kodėl pasirinkta Afrika vystyti verslui? „Atsakymas paprastas – milžiniška ir auganti rinka. Vien Kenijoje yra 54 milijonai gyventojų. Didelis privalumas yra anglų kalba ir panaši laiko zona. Saugu gyventi ir yra visos reikalingos paslaugos, puikūs restoranai, barai bei naktiniai klubai. Nairobis yra daugiakultūrinis miestas – čia įsikūrė daugumos tarptautinių organizacijų regioniniai centrai“, - sako Tomas Sudnius. Be to, pasak jo, Kenija labai sparčiai vysto savo infrastuktūrą. Pvz., visi suaugę Kenijos gyventojai naudojasi M-Pesa (mobili piniginė), kurios principas yra toks, kad tavo telefono numeris yra tavo banko sąskaita. Galima per kelias sekundes pervesti pinigus bet kuriam žmogui, atsiskaityti parduotuvėje ir sumokėti už komunalines paslaugas. Tai yra labai didelis privalumas vystant verslą – mūsų įmonė nenaudoja grynų pinigų.
