Have you heard of a “kotatsu”? It's a unique Japanese table that brings people together for warmth and dining and is a tradition that can support #WellBeing. The Ajinomoto Group found that people who ate together with others more than four days a week experienced 1.6 times more well-being than those who didn’t eat together at all. From Mt. Yoshiteru Masai, General Manager of Food Products Division of Ajinomoto Co., Inc., recently visited Ajinomoto del Perú S.A. in Lima and the Chile Branch in Santiago. Masai explored the local market and reviewed the distribution of the Ajinomoto Group products and competitors' offerings. He also toured the Callao production plant and visited Conzac market in Lima. During his visit, he discussed “Orchestration” with local members, a concept based on his own experience as a musician, emphasizing how individual parts of an organization must come together to create harmony and rhythm. This process involves proactive connections between individuals and parts, forming an unprecedented orchestra. In Peru, the event included a chorus of a team song composed by the local sales team to encourage and inspire themselves, conducted by Masai himself. Masai's purpose was to visit the countries surrounding the Andes Mountains, where further business growth is expected. Peru has grown to become the second most important market after the five major countries, which we call the five stars. And with Peru as a base, exports to neighboring countries are growing. Among them, this time he visited Chile and provided valuable insights and suggestions for accelerating growth in Chile and Latin America in general. The Ajinomoto Group will continue to strive towards fulfilling its 2030 vision, focusing on Food and Wellness as one of the Group’s growth areas. 🍽 Eat Deliciously! – In celebration of World Food Day on October 16th, we’re excited to highlight a concept that has been at the heart of the Ajinomoto Group's mission. Over 100 years ago, “Eat Deliciously!” was a kind of “instruction manual”, a book with 18 pages, which was introduced for households to prepare flavorful, nutritious meals using AJI-NO-MOTO® But what does “Eat Deliciously!” really mean? It means ensuring meals are rich in flavor, while supporting healthy eating such as sodium reduction, by using AJI-NO-MOTO®, which is a source of umami substance. The Ajinomoto Group has entered an exciting global partnership with Danone to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the dairy industry, using their innovative AjiPro®-L solution 🐄 This collaboration focuses on AjiPro®-L, an innovative lysine formulation developed by the Ajinomoto Group, which improves amino acid absorption in cows. By incorporating this solution, the partnership aims to reduce feed costs, and significantly cut GHG emissions, contributing to a more sustainable dairy supply chain. This initiative is already underway with Danone’s farmers in Spain, Brazil, the U.S., Egypt, and Morocco. Moving forward, Ajinomoto Co., Inc. and Danone will work to integrate the solution into tools for quantifying GHG reductions. Last month, Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition North America, Inc. celebrated one of the region’s largest wetland restoration projects near the production facility in Eddyville, Iowa 🌳 🦌 Over 130 acres of land are being transformed back into their original wetland habitat. With the help of dedicated volunteers, native trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses have already been planted 🌱 The Ajinomoto Group will continue to support such meaningful conservation efforts and strengthen the community through this project. This week, we celebrated one of the region’s largest wetlands restoration projects near our production facility in Eddyville, Iowa. Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition is transforming over 130 acres of land along the Des Moines River back into its original wetland habitat, supporting wildlife like endangered Indiana bats and whitetail deer. “For more than 100 years, we have been delivering on our mission to help the world eat well and live well,” said Ryan Smith, Chief Growth Officer and Executive Vice President at Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition. “This inspiring project reflects our commitment to sustainability.” Our volunteers have planted over two thousand native trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses, and the wetland has already become a beloved landmark for our team members. “While the wetland restoration is still in its beginning stages, we can already see the impact it will have on generations to come,” said Stephen Salevsky, Senior Director of Operations at the Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition Eddyville production facility.
