  • Funeral flowers are a traditional and meaningful way to express sympathy, and there are many different styles of arrangements that our Funeral Directors can help you with. - We have a comprehensive catalogue for you to consider your options. Popular arrangements include: 1. Casket Sprays: These are large flower arrangements placed on top of the casket. They can be simple or elaborate, with flowers like roses, lilies, or carnations. 2. Standing Sprays: Arranged on an easel, these are often placed near the casket and are visible during the funeral service. 3. Wreaths: Circular wreaths symbolise eternal life and are often placed at the service or the graveside. 4. Bouquets: Smaller bouquets are often sent as personal tributes and can be displayed during visitation services. 5. Sympathy Baskets: These arrangements are sent directly to the family’s home as a token of condolence. When choosing funeral flowers, it's important to consider the deceased's wishes and any cultural or religious customs associated with the service. #funeralflowers #funeralplanning #funeraldirector #JerseyCI

  • When planning a funeral one of the first questions we ask is whether you want a burial or cremation? You may want to consider the environmental aspects of the two. Land Use: Cremated remains, if buried and not scattered, do not require as much land compared to traditional burials. Therefore, cremation may have an advantage in terms of land use which will become an issue in Jersey due to its limited space. Resource Consumption: Traditional burial requires the use of a casket, which is typically made of wood. Cremation also requires a combustible casket. Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Cremation requires a significant amount of energy for the oven to reach the necessary temperatures, which can contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Traditional burial may also result in greenhouse gas emissions due to the decomposition of the body that can release methane into the atmosphere. However, the amount of emissions each method produces will vary depending on the specific circumstances and practices. In conclusion, neither cremation nor traditional burial is entirely environmentally friendly. However, there are ways to minimise the environmental impact of each such as choosing one of our biodegradable caskets and lowering your carbon footprint by car-pooling or offering a live screening limiting travel.   Ultimately, the best choice will depend on individual circumstances and priorities. As best we can, we will cater to whatever the family requests. #funeralplanning #funeraldirector #burialorcremation #environment #JerseyCI

  • It is Jersey Legacy Week as promoted by the Association of Jersey Charities - the week in the year when the AJC aims to celebrate the impact of gifts in Wills and to share the difference they can make to local charities. We have met many of the local law firms this year to help their Wills and Probate departments to understand the part that we play in encouraging islanders to plan for the future. - Writing a Will and writing #lastingwishes go hand in hand making decisions now so that you loved ones don't have to in the future. #funeraldirector #funeralplanning #planforthefuture #legacyweek #charity #JerseyCI

This is our response vehicle. When a loved one dies and we are notified by the authorities, the first thing is to collect the deceased and bring them back to our premises and into our care. Ahead of the funeral, our experienced morticians prepare and dress the deceased according to the family wishes. We have a Chapel of rest at our premises on Great Union Road where family members can pay their last, private respects to their loved one. Our Funeral Directors are always on hand to answer any questions that you may have throughout the funeral planning process. #funerals #funeralplanning #funeraldirector #jerseyci

  • You may well have heard us talk before about Lasting Wishes, a FREE offering that we make to all islanders who would like to record how they would like to see their funeral managed and run, and to take all of that worry away from their loved ones when the time comes. No matter the stage in your life, it is important to prepare your lasting wishes so that your family and loved ones know how you’d like to leave. Our lasting wishes service is free and is now online, or if you'd prefer then please call us on 737291 to make an appointment with one of our Funeral Directors who can talk you through the process. They will be happy to meet you either at our office on Great Union Road or go to a place of your choice. #lastingwishes #FREEservice #funeralplanning #funeraldirector #jerseyci

  • Last year we joined forces with Jersey Trees for Life and agreed to plant a tree as a mark of respect for every funeral we arranged in the previous calendar year and to do this each year from now on. Our first hedge was planted in St Peter in the Autumn of 2023 and we are posting quarterly updates on our website. The whips are generally doing ok, although they have suffered competition from bindweed and perennials and some have been lost and will need replacing. If you'd like to follow our project, please visit the website and search the dropdown menu under 'Celebrating Life'. #celebratinglife #hedgerow #trees #JerseyCI
