First Steps: From Reality to the Digital World The very first stages is the photography and videography of the surrounding landscape. Realism is crucial for us, as the virtual model must allow an assessment of the surrounding landscape at any time of day. Our specialists utilize drones and satellite imagery to perform photogrammetry of the future residential complex's surroundings, capturing its beauty in its entirety. To clarify, photogrammetry in real estate is the process of creating a 3D model of an object or its surroundings using numerous photographs taken from different viewpoints. This method allows for a precise and detailed digital reconstruction of objects and environments, which is particularly valuable for visualization and planning purposes. Onward to the Next Stage! 🚀 We are excited to begin a series of posts where we share our redesign process for the "ODA" interior studio. Our approach focuses on analyzing and improving key aspects of the site to make it more user-friendly and visually appealing. Today, we will discuss the first step – usability issues (UX). Key Usability Problems We Identified on the “ODA” website: ⃗⃗⃗1. Navigation: The header does not indicate the active page, forcing users to guess their location. This adds unnecessary steps, such as scrolling and searching for content. 2. Home Page: Buttons on the "Home" page are inactive, and the hero section content is not aligned to a grid. This complicates navigation when content changes. 3. Footer: The site footer is inactive on all pages. 4. Contacts: There is no feedback form on the "Contacts" page. 5. Our Prices: On the "Our Prices" page, the "Contact Us" button redirects users to the "Contacts" page. It would be more logical to open a pop-up form for entering details or provide another contact method, such as phone or messenger. Why It Matters: 💡 These usability issues can significantly reduce user satisfaction and their willingness to return to the site. 💡 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗶: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗫𝗥 - 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Today, we’re going to post about Alessio Grancini who stands out for his unique transition from architecture to XR/AR/VR technology. His journey highlights the challenges and triumphs of integrating traditional architectural skills with cutting-edge digital technology. 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗫𝗥 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Alessio’s path began in Italy, where he studied architecture. His ambition led him to the U.S., where he attended SCI-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture) in Los Angeles. As an international student, he navigated visa challenges, cultural adjustments, and the competitive landscape of the tech industry. “Being an international student added layers of complexity to my journey. Navigating visa requirements and adapting to a new culture were significant challenges, but they also pushed me to work harder and build a robust portfolio.” During his studies, Alessio’s interest in XR grew as he saw the potential to combine architectural visualization with immersive technology. Alessio recalls that “initially, XR technology was quite rudimentary, with few tools available, I learned through many projects in school and internships at game companies. It was a challenging but rewarding journey.” Transforming his career from architecture to XR wasn’t easy. Alessio had to learn coding, often relying on tools like Unity that provided visual interfaces similar to architectural software. He watched tutorials, completed projects for practice, and took on internships to gain practical experience. Alessio’s impressive portfolio eventually led him to work on high-profile projects with leading companies like Nike and Morphosis. His work for Morphosis, showcased at Milan Design Week, involved an AR app that allowed users to modify architectural assets interactively.
