👉 The Civil Protection Department in Badia Tedalda (Tuscany, Italy) celebrates the opening of a new Municipal Operations Centre (MOC)   We recently attended the opening ceremony of a new operations centre for the Italian Civil Protection Department’s local group of volunteers: along with Edil Euganea Srl and its CEO Fabio Poletto, we donated a container to the little municipality in Alta Valmarecchia, complete with all the facilities required to serve as a base if the need arises. The unit and the surrounding area can be used as a Municipal Operations Centre (MOC) in the event of an emergency, providing the important support that centres of this kind can offer, especially in mountainous zones.   SICIM was represented at the event by Alessio Veroni and Giovanni Nobile. It was attended by the mayor Alberto Santucci and lots of local people, who showed their strong backing for the initiative.

📢 Full speed ahead for the Karachaganak Expansion Project in Kazakhstan: the first KEP-1A gas injection has been completed successfully.   The Karachaganak Expansion Project (KEP1) is a crucial part of the Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) consortium’s development plan. The aim is to complete KEP1A (5th Compressor) and KEP1B (6th Compressor) to increase the gas re-injection capacity.   At the end of July,2024 the 5th compressor safely achieved the first gas reinjection into reservoir and it’s now running in stable operation. In the next weeks KEP1A project will be completed with the commissioning of a new system of pipelines, along with the associated receiving facilities at KPC plant. At the same time KEP1B is proceeding full speed with a target to start up in 1Q 2026.   Thanks to our team and collaboration with KPO, we’re continuing to work towards increasingly ambitious targets. #sicim #pipeline #sicimproject

Ready for phase 3 of the Master Gas System Expansion project 💪 SICIM, working in partnership with Nesma & Partners, has been selected for EPC packages 10 and 14 of the important Saudi Aramco Master Gas System (MGS III) project in Saudi Arabia. Both packages involve laying pipelines: package 10 requires a 56-inch pipeline to be laid from sector one STS-2 to sector two STS-1, over a total of 310 km, while package 14 requires a total of 212 km of pipelines of various diameters to be laid in the Shoaiba area.   Work will be starting very soon, now that aramco, one of the world’s largest integrated energy and chemicals companies, has awarded the contracts to complete its strategic gas expansion project, which is targeting sales gas production growth of more than 60% (compared to 2021) by 2030. In addition to the third expansion phase of Aramco’s Master Gas System, contracts have been awarded for the second expansion phase in the vast Jafurah unconventional gas field, as well as new gas rigs and ongoing maintenance. “This ambitious project includes some of the most unique challenges within the pipelines industry, such as laying large diameter pipes in rough and mountainous areas not easily accessible. Thanks to the JV with Nesma & Partners, we will bring new solutions and know-how in the market and, given the experience in the territory, will plan the operations in detail, with the aim to execute the activities in compliance with the highest safety, quality and environmental standards, and care of all the stakeholders involved. Attention to every detail – big and small – makes the difference all over the world 🌍   Every day, we get the chance to take a close look at our team at work in various countries across the globe. It reminds us that best practices in safety are the common ground that forms the foundations of our number one objective: working in safe settings, from the moment we say goodbye to our families in the morning to the time we get home and wrap our arms around them again.   We’re delighted to have logged 500,000 hours worked without lost-time incidents on the Gas to Energy Project in Guyana, which will deliver natural gas from fields in the Atlantic Ocean. It’s the first big milestone we’ve reached since we arrived in the country in 2023 and it’s been recognized by Exxon Mobil Corporation.   Wherever we are, safety is always our top priority and this is underlined by the dedication and attention to detail we show in everything we do. 🏗 Last Friday, the curtain came down in style on the 3rd PIPELINE & GAS EXPO (PGE) in Piacenza, Europe’s leading convention for the "Mid-Stream" section and "Oil&Gas", "Power Generation" and water distribution networks.   As part of the packed schedule of events, we took part in a panel entitled "The role of gases in building a resilient energy system”, during which we talked about the Coastal GasLink pipeline - Section 8 West project in Canada and highlighted the innovative solutions employed to overcome design and construction challenges. Among the speakers were Andrea Stegher, International Gas Union Vice President (President for the 2025-2028 Triennium), our very own Paolo Zoni, Business Development Manager at SICIM, and Andrea Scuderi, Head of Commercial Pipeline and Europe at Bonatti. “You’re too young to…” ❌ For World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024, we promoted the #SicimJunior initiative. The aim behind it is to introduce children to health and safety culture, by telling them about the potential dangers they might encounter at school and at home, and highlighting that risk awareness and taking simple everyday precautions can make a big difference, no matter how young you are.   We welcomed the fourth grade classes from Busseto primary school, who were given Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and explored a number of the company’s production areas, meeting people who work carefully and responsibly every day, looking after both their own health and safety and that of their co-workers. Mechanics, carpenters, welders and warehouse staff were all happy to share their experiences, on a day when all of our young guests also got the chance to see what it’s like to be a firefighter, during a real fire-extinguishing exercise under the watchful eye of a professional trainer! We’re keeping our eye on the ball as we celebrate 3 million hours worked without accidents in Iraq 🏆 In 2022, we were proud and delighted to announce that the WP4 & WP9 EPC project in the West Qurna oil field in Iraq had reached 2 million hours worked without accidents, because safety is a key value that we all share at every level in our company. Thanks to the consistently high operating standards for which we’re renowned everywhere, the project has now reached a new milestone: 3 million hours worked without accidents. Occupational Health and Safety isn’t a game, but we’re team players and we all help to identify potential hazards, create safe working environments for everyone and aim for increasingly high safety standards. We have just begun work on the third lot of the Sestino – Minerbio natural gas pipeline, the section from Mercato Saraceno to Cesena in Emilia-Romagna, for a total of 31 kilometres.   The Sestino – Minerbio project represents a fundamentally important piece of infrastructure for the region, and the numbers speak volumes: 48 inches in diameter, with a total length of over 140 kilometres.   SICIM is taking on this new construction challenge with digital and sustainable solutions and innovation, such as: • The 3D automation system on the excavators increases excavation productivity and allows for remote support and monitoring • The anti-collision system on the heavy vehicles prevents the risk of impacts and accidents • The new HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel reduces net atmospheric CO2 emissions. Inauguration of the “Parco della Vita” in Busseto; we were there!   On Friday 22nd March we had the pleasure of seeing the project conceived by the Forestry Consortium Kilometroverde Parma come to life: 2054 trees and shrubs were planted on an area of over 1 hectare.   The saying goes that “You can tell a tree by its fruit, a man by his actions”. We believe that every company must give back to society, to the community and to the territory in which it operates.
