Behind the new livery of the Frecce Tricolori lies the meticulous work of #Pininfarina’s design team, inspired by what we call the Renaissance of the Tricolore - an idea that embodies our national pride and celebrates the symbol representing Italy around the world. As the National Aerobatic Team prepares for a new chapter with the M-346 aircraft, Pininfarina's designers took on the challenge of crafting a design that not only complements the aircraft’s performance but also enhances its visual impact during complex aerial maneuvers. Their work ensures that the Tricolore remains vivid and dynamic in the sky, reflecting Italy’s heritage of innovation and artistry. This achievement is the result of dedicated teamwork, precision, and passion - qualities that both Pininfarina and the Italian Air Force hold in the highest regard.

When design is truly timeless, it continues to be recognized and awarded even years later. This is often the case with #Pininfarina masterpieces, which consistently win prizes at prestigious concours d’elegance around the world. This was once again the case at the FestivalCar 2024 in Revigliasco, held last weekend. Pininfarina models swept the awards, with the stunning 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi winning the special Pininfarina Award, dedicated to the memory of Paolo Pininfarina. In the Top Class category, open to sports cars and supercars, another remarkable #Ferrari, the 1962 250 GT/E 2+2, triumphed, showcasing Pininfarina's signature style and top-tier performance for its time, thanks to its V12 engine. The Open Top category was won by yet another Pininfarina design, the 1961 #AlfaRomeo Giulietta Spider 1300, while the Michelin Award went to the 1954 #Lancia Aurelia B52 Pininfarina.

Honoring a timeless masterpiece of automotive design blending speed, beauty, and functionality.   As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the #Ferrari Testarossa, we look back at this design icon, first presented on the stage of the Lido Club on the Champs Elysées during the Paris Motor Show in October 1984. The name "Testarossa" returned in glory, identifying the successor to the 512 BBi. For this model, #Pininfarina crafted an innovative and visually impactful design, defined by its bold lateral air intakes and larger dimensions compared to its predecessor, marking a radical shift in Ferrari’s design language. The car’s 180° V12 engine, with four valves per cylinder, made it the most powerful production sports car of its time.   The Testarossa holds a special place in Pininfarina's history, particularly for Sergio Pininfarina himself. It was his personal vehicle, symbolizing his deep connection to this remarkable design. For Sergio, the Testarossa was a masterpiece that encapsulated his vision of Italian design excellence and Ferrari’s pursuit of technical perfection. Loved by many, including Gianni Agnelli, the Testarossa remains a timeless masterpiece that, forty years later, continues to influence automotive design.

Sacco began his extraordinary career at Pininfarina, where his talent and vision quickly became evident, laying the foundation for a legendary body of work. We join his family in mourning this immense loss, while honoring the memory of a man whose designs will continue to inspire generations to come. Bruno Sacco will always be remembered as one of the greatest minds in automotive design history.

An Italian excellence takes center stage at the America’s Cup. Persico Marine, a long-time partner of #Pininfarina, has once again been confirmed as the official supplier of the foil arms - the lateral arms that support the foil wings, enabling boats to "fly" over the water - for the America’s Cup. Additionally, Persico Marine has built the new Luna Rossa AC75 and a hydrogen-powered tender catamaran for the competition. Their extensive America’s Cup experience has been successfully applied to the creation of the Fly40 One Design, a 12-metre foiling boat designed for a 5-person crew. This revolutionary sail/racing boat was developed by an exceptional team, including Caponnetto Hueber for naval architecture and hydrodynamics, New Zealander Steve Wilson for the wing mast and rigging, and Pininfarina as part of the design team.
