For this project with AKA Hotels+Hotel Residences, Lissoni Architecture New York transformed an existing building into a hotel located in the charming historic district of Alexandria, just a few kilometers from Washington, DC. This project beautifully contrasts classic and contemporary styles while drawing inspiration from colonial aesthetics. The spaces have been thoughtfully remodeled into intercommunicating boxes, each designed to serve distinct functions that tell their own story. A key focus of this renovation was the lighting design, developed in collaboration with studio atomic. The result is a series of welcoming environments that foster relaxation and comfort, enhancing the overall guest experience.
