Società Benefit: l’impatto dell’intelligenza artificiale sull’industria tessile. Leggi l'articolo: https://lnkd.in/d6hV5YAK #madeinitaly #industria #intelligenzaartificiale

The third and final week of the 2024 Italia Innovation Program began with a couple of site visits: Treviso, where we visited the Benetton Group studios and Fabrica, and Como, where we toured the Ratti S.p.A. Società Benefit factory. At Benetton, after a tour of the studios and an inspiring conversation about Benetton’s pioneering activist approach to advertising and communication between Elizabeth Segran, Ph.D., senior staff writer at Fast Company, and Carlo Tunioli, former CEO of Benetton USA and now CEO of Fabrica, we spent the afternoon in the architectural landmark designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando. There, we attended the first leadership lecture by John Paul Rollert adjunct professor at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. On Tuesday, we headed to Como, where the Ratti factory and foundation are headquartered, to meet with the company’s innovation board and discuss the initial research findings of our class. After a quick stop in downtown Milan, we returned to our campus in the Berici Hills to focus, under the guidance of Professor Danny Warshay Executive Director of the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship at Brown University, on the final presentations that the class discussed on Friday, the 19th. During the last 24 hours of the program, we also celebrated the unique architectural heritage of Vicenza, the city where our program has been headquartered this year, with an unforgettable farewell dinner on the terrace of the Basilica Palladiana. This year’s program continued to evolve from a solution-based innovation relationship with our local stakeholders to a more insightful, conversation-driven exchange. With increased effort in logistical organization and nationwide operations, Italia Innovation is strengthening its position as an international point of reference in the academic and business conversation about the future of Italy in the world. Welcome to the next 10 years of the Italia Innovation Program!

Last Thursday and Friday marked the 2024 Italia Innovation Program Finale. The fellows teamed up in eight groups to wrap up the research questions we explored during our nationwide journey. Their findings have been honed and refined thanks to the multidisciplinary expertise of faculty members and mentors like Danny Warshay and Debra Herman from Brown University, John Paul Rollert from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business Elizabeth Segran, Ph.D. Senior Staff Writer at Fast Company, and Alexandra Fattal former Milan editor at The Economist and now partner at Loyal VC. The finale unfolded into a two-day event. First, we were hosted at the Loggia del Capitaniato of the Città di Vicenza, home of the city council, where we shared our final considerations on local development with the former Mayor of Pittsburgh, Bill Peduto. We then crossed the magnificent Piazza dei Signori for an unforgettable farewell dinner with the class, faculty members, and representatives from all the companies and institutions that made our three-week field research journey possible: Poltrona Frau, Technogym, Distilleria Nardini 1779, Mancini Pastificio Agricolo, Marchesi Frescobaldi, Ratti S.p.A. Società Benefit, Benetton Group, and the cities of Vicenza and Valdagno. There was no better way to get ready for our final morning, when back at our campus on the Berici Hills, our teams shared their insights.

Last week, my time at the Italia Innovation Program 2024 drew to a close after three-weeks of intensive exploration of the Italian industry. Being an engineering major, it was eye-opening to understand the field’s role within the context of strategic business decisions and observe it in the day-to-day operations of companies such as Benetton Group, Technogym, Poltrona Frau, Ratti S.p.A. Società Benefit, Marchesi Frescobaldi and Frescobaldi, Mancini Pasta, and Distillerie Nardini. Still, obtaining an in depth understanding into the business principles and entrepreneurship that drive these companies to success would not have been possible if not for lectures conducted by: Carnegie Mellon’s Professor Peter Boatwright, Brown University’s Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship’s Professor Danny Warshaw, and Chicago Booth’s Professors John Paul Rollert and Elizabeth Segram. As part of this journey into the encouraging innovation in the Italian industry, I was tasked with devising a proposal for Italian textile giant Ratti S.p.A. Società Benefit on increasing the productivity/efficiency of their existing creative process as well as product analysis. Later I had the chance to present our ideas not only to Italia Innovation 2024 cohort but also to Ratti’s Innovation Board composed of its CEO, COO, CLO, Head of HR, Innovation Manager, and others. Hence, I would like to thank Elif Memet, Daniel Kim, and Hazal Ece Ozturk for their teachings and guidance as we devised solutions for this challenge together! Similarly, I also had a chance to understand the impact of these business structures in local development by visiting the post-industrials towns of Vicenza and Valdagno in the Veneto region of the country as well as through conversations with the mayors of both towns and with lectures by The Washington Post’s former journalist Amy Goldstein and former Mayor of Pittsburgh Bill Peduto,. Perhaps, the most memorable moment of this program, however, was getting to witness a panel featuring Italy’s former Prime Minister and former Head of the European Commission Romano Prodi alongside former Editor In-Chief of The Economist Bill Emmott. Overall, I am very thankful for the opportunity not only to visit this amazing country and industry but also to connect with individuals from all over the USA and Europe. I would also like to take this moment to specially thank Carlotta Borruto and Marco Mari for this incredible opportunity and for making such program a reality!

Last night, we immersed ourselves in Vicenza’s Palladianism, hosting the 2024 Italia Innovation Program's final conversation about local development inside the Loggia del Capitaniato and celebrating our farewell dinner on the breathtaking terrace of the Basilica Palladiana. Vicenza, along with its surrounding Colli Berici, has been the main host city for this year’s program. It is a very special place where a particular idea of the Renaissance still inspires many excellences of the Italian economy and society. Thank you, Vicenza, until next time!

The 2024 Italian Innovation program stops at Poltrona Frau. As part of the Italia Innovation project, we engaged in a dynamic session with international university students exploring the future of Italian brands and society. Professor Peter Boatwright, our guest speaker, led the session, facilitating a compelling discussion titled "Branding for the Future: Reflections on Durability, Sustainability, and Enduring Value," emphasizing the importance of sustainability. Our CEO, Nicola Coropulis, was also present and took the opportunity to delve into the core principles and values of Poltrona Frau with the students. This session provided students with a firsthand look at Italian innovation, highlighting aspects of Made in Italy such as manufacturing, business acumen, political leadership, and local development initiatives. #PoltronaFrau #ItaliaInnovation #PeterBoatwright
