The face of medicine is changing, research from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) shows that between 2004 and 2022 the number of women physicians increased by 97%; today 38% of all active physicians in the US are women. Gastroenterology became one of the fastest growing specialities chosen by women with an increase of 219% in the same time frame.
