"L’euphorie de la couleur" is now open at Galleria Continua / Paris! We are thrilled to present the first solo exhibition of Carlos Cruz-Diez, a pioneer of kinetic art (1923-2019) and a master of color. This vibrant exhibition explores profound societal changes and the dynamics of color perception through landmark works such as Fisicromía 54 and Fisicromía 55 (1962), Objeto rítmico móvil manipulable (1956), and more. Highlights include Couleur Additive (1959), showcasing "chromatic event modules" that transform color continuously, and Physichromie (1959), structures that change with viewer movement and light intensity. The exhibition also features Inductions Chromatiques (1963), investigating retinal persistence, and Induction Chromatique à double fréquence (2018), a monumental work changing with viewer movement. Additionally, Chromointerferences (1964), Pyramide Chromointerférente (2007), and Transchromies (1965) use innovative techniques to delve into the interplay of color, light, and perception. Our gallery will be closed from August 11th to August 19th. Galleria Continua / Les Moulins will remain open as usual. Happy Birthday to Eva Jospin ! 🎂🥳   Eva Jospin (born in 1975, lives and works in Paris) has been creating forest and architectural landscapes for about fifteen years, which she develops on various media. Winner of the Académie des Beaux-Arts Prize in 2015 and a resident at the Villa Medici in Rome in 2017, she has been the subject of numerous significant international exhibitions, notably at the Palais de Tokyo (Inside, 2014), the Palazzo Dei Diamanti in Ferrara in 2018, the Museum Pfalzgalerie in Kaiserslautern in 2019, the Hayward Gallery in 2020, the Het Noordbrabants Museum in Den Bosch (Paper Tales, 2021), and more recently at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris (Galleria, 2021)   In 2024 she inaugurated a solo exhibition at Museo Fortuny (Selva) in Venice, during the 60th Venice Biennale and an exhibition in Versailles, at the Orangery, at the same time that her solo show ‘Tromper l'oeil’ at GALLERIA CONTINUA / Paris. Today, we honor the memory and celebrate the birthday of Leila Alaoui, whose profound impact continues to resonate in the world of art and beyond. Her legacy lives on through her powerful work and the Centre Intercultural Leila Alaoui, which carries forward her vision of intercultural dialogue and understanding. Leila Alaoui (1982-2016) was a Franco-Moroccan photographer and video artist renowned for her powerful and evocative work that explored themes of identity, migration, and cultural diversity. Born in Paris and raised in Morocco, Alaoui studied photography at the City University of New York before embarking on a career that saw her travel extensively across North Africa and the Middle East. Her poignant portraits and documentaries, including projects like "The Moroccans" and "No Pasara," captured the resilience and dignity of marginalized communities.
