    Full steam ahead, Alevro!

    PLUTO TRAIN 2 👏 Alevro, a joint venture between Monadelphous and Fagioli, has expanded its contract with Bechtel to add the supply of cranes for major lifts to its existing heavy haul and heavy lift contract at the Pluto Train 2 Project. The Pluto Train 2 Project involves the construction of a second LNG production train at the Woodside Energy-operated Pluto LNG onshore facility in Karratha, WA. Alevro Joint Venture Manager, Rod Stribley said, "At Alevro, our unique approach to construction and integrating heavy lift is being recognised within the industry. This expanded scope of work with Bechtel to include cranes and major complex lifting is a testament to our team of highly capable, globally experienced subject matter experts.”

    La nostra recente avventura in Austria è stata un'esperienza straordinaria: non capita tutti i giorni di assistere in diretta al sollevamento di un viadotto di 7.000 tonnellate e lungo 600 metri! Oggi vi mostriamo una breve intervista realizzata in loco, quasi un "dietro le quinte" in cui Nicola Parente, Operation Manager in Fagioli, ci racconta uno degli step cruciali per garantire un sollevamento sicuro e preciso del viadotto. Ringraziamo di cuore tutto il team di Fagioli per averci permesso di raccontare tutto ciò!

    The Alevro and Bechtel teams recently completed the successful installation of the Heavies Removal Column (HRC) at Pluto Train 2, marking a major milestone for the project's progress. Using a Tower Lift System (TLS) and a 1,600t capacity crawler crane, the HRC stands tall at 42.6m and weighs a whopping 1,200t, making a significant mark on the site skyline.    The meticulous planning for this feat began over a year ago, with over 3,000 hrs of engineering to tailor the TLS to the project's unique needs. Every detail was analysed to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and local regulations, demonstrating the teams unwavering commitment to safety and excellence.   From the mobilisation of equipment from across the globe to the intricate coordination during the 11hr upending operation, every step was a testament to teamwork and expertise. We extend our congratulations to everyone involved in this accomplishment!

    Jacket roll-up: an innovative method by Fagioli! 💪🏻 Fagioli was involved by Gruppo Antonini SpA in the construction of a 2600 tonne jacket measuring 40x47x93 meters. Our creativity led us to find an innovative way to complete this project and get the job done in just 3 days! Cranes were used to lift partially the first main side wall of the jacket, weighing 600 tonnes, which was then temporarily supported by a jack-up system while the second 600 tonne side wall was lifted in the same way. At this point, our strand jacks came into play to complete the rotation of the two side walls. During this second phase, we faced several challenges: getting 3 strand jacks of different sizes (2 with a capacity of 300 tonnes and 1 of 450 tonnes) to work simultaneously, with 3 different cables recovery speed (due to the conformation of the jacket, the side faces of which are not parallel). Meanwhile, another 4 100-tonne capacity strand jacks were used to stabilize the face against tilting. Thanks to this unprecedented technique, the walls were finally brought into their final 90° position, in three days only. Our commitment to innovation brings us to another milestone! 🌐 #heavylift #engineering #innovation #strandjacks

    On June 3rd, 4th, and 5th, the roll-up of the jacket took place at Gruppo Antonini's Shipyard! A Jacket-type platform is an oceanic structure constructed from steel tubular components and anchored to the seabed with piles. It is designed for exploration and primarily for hydrocarbon production, typically in depths of up to 300 meters. The two supporting legs are initially built onshore and later rotated 90 degrees during a process referred to as "Roll up". BRIDGE INSTALLATION BY SPMTs IN FRANCE! On June 7th, the 14-Arch Bridge in Tende was placed in its final position across the Roya River, continuing the reconstruction of the valley after the terrible floods of 2020. The 320 ton, 55 meter long and 10.6 meter wide steel bridge is the third to be installed in this area by Fagioli in less than two years. Its bow-string design not only adds to its aesthetic appeal, but also provides resistance to extreme hydraulic conditions, ensuring long-term durability and safety. We are very proud to contribute our expertise to improve the connectivity and infrastructure of the Département des Alpes Maritimes, connecting communities and driving progress.   Le 7 juin, le pont des 14 Arches de Tende a été placé dans sa position finale sur la Roya, poursuivant ainsi la reconstruction de la vallée après les terribles inondations de 2020. Ce pont en acier de 320 tonnes, 55 mètres de long et 10,6 mètres de large est le troisième à être installé par Fagioli dans cette région en moins de deux ans. Sa conception en arc ajoute non seulement à son attrait esthétique, mais offre également une résistance aux conditions hydrauliques extrêmes, garantissant ainsi une durabilité et une sécurité à long terme. Nous sommes très fiers d'apporter notre expertise pour améliorer la connectivité et l'infrastructure du Département des Alpes Maritimes, en reliant les communautés et en favorisant le progrès. #civilengineering #heavylifting #innovation #departementdesalpesmaritimes

    Work In Progress : SPMT European Transport Operator Licence! Fagioli is proud to be an ESTA supporter, the leading European association for the abnormal road transport and mobile crane rental industry. During the last years, the ESTA association has gathered several European national association and private companies to discuss about the heavy transport and lifting activity rules which differ from each country and jointly cooperate in a strict and parallel connection to European Community to create a unique and efficient system. Esta, as reported on its website estaeurope.eu, has received “exceptionally strong support” from its members and the heavy transport market for its on-going work to improve safety during the use of SPMTs and establish an internationally accepted training qualification for operators. ESTA is also progressing plans to develop SPMT operator training through the launch of ETOL – the European Transport Operators Licence – using the structures developed for the European Crane Operators Licence. Please check out the two of the last publications on ESTA website: - “ ESTA Guideline for the use of Modular Hydraulically Suspended Trailers – Transport stability” - “Best practice guide for Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMT)”. #estaeurope; #Spmt;
