IED Torino ha presentato OLTRETEMPO, un’esplorazione innovativa del mondo Damiani che rende omaggio alla Maison attraverso lo sguardo dei giovani designer laureati in Design del Gioiello e Accessori. Allestita presso le prestigiose Gallerie d’Italia di Torino, l’esposizione ha raccolto i prototipi degli otto progetti di tesi degli studenti del terzo anno in Design del Gioiello e Accessori IED Torino, ai quali era stato chiesto di immaginare i gioielli Damiani del futuro. Ogni creazione è una ricerca senza limiti di forme, materiali e significati, nata dalla contaminazione tra l'audacia creativa delle giovani generazioni e i valori e l’eccellenza artigianale della Maison. La collaborazione tra Damiani e IED Torino ha previsto un anno di intenso lavoro congiunto dove gli studenti hanno potuto approfondire l'identità stilistica e produttiva dell’azienda, ma anche le potenzialità e le sfide del settore nel prossimo decennio. Da questo incontro è nata una sinergia perfetta tra formazione accademica e impresa per scrivere insieme una nuova pagina nella ricerca dello stile: un terreno di sperimentazione, frutto di un impegno condiviso per preservare, valorizzare e rinnovare quel distintivo marchio del "Made in Italy" di cui la Maison è ambasciatrice nel mondo Per celebrare questa importante collaborazione, si è tenuto ieri sera un evento speciale sempre presso la prestigiosa sede di Gallerie d’Italia di Torino, alla presenza del Presidente della Regione Piemonte Alberto Cirio e del Vicepresidente del Gruppo Damiani Giorgio Grassi Damiani. “Siamo molto felici di aver preso parte a questa collaborazione con IED Torino. For the Centenary celebrations of Damiani, the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy has dedicated an exclusive stamp to the Maison, as part of the thematic series entitled “The Excellence of the productive and economic system” in Italian entrepreneurship. The stamp features a sketch of the majestic Mimosa Eternal Blue necklace, one of 100 masterpieces forming the special collection created to celebrate the brand's hundred-year history. A story of family, craftsmanship, creativity and passion: truly unique all-Italian values that the Damiani family has always safeguarded and preserved. For this special occasion, the commemorative stamp will be available to collectors and enthusiasts in two versions: a folder containing several products, including a personalised postcard and envelope; and a chronicle containing a datasheet and a brief history of the Maison and a card. Silvia Grassi Damiani, Vice-President of the Damiani Group, attended the official stamp presentation, which took place Thursday, 17 October, in Sala degli Arazzi, Palazzo Piacentini, in Rome – home to the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy – in the presence of Minister Adolfo Urso, the Undersecretary of State responsible for Philately Fausta Bergamotto, the representative of the State Mint and Polygraphic Institute Stefano Imperatori, and the Poste Italiane Head of Philately Giovanni Machetti. Damiani and Borsalino have entered into a special partnership for the Damiani Centenary. Symbolizing Italian excellence worldwide, the coming together of these two companies has led to the creation of three unique Borsalino hats, each made even more precious by the combination of jewels from three of the most iconic Damiani collections. These pieces thus become a concrete sign of the union of two paradigms of luxury manufacturing excellence, which share not only a deep link with their territory of origin – the Piedmont region – but also a strong artisanal vocation. Nina, Borsalino’s ultra-elegant, slightly retro cloche, proposed here in black, has been paired with Belle Époque, the line inspired by the charm and joie de vivre of this unique historical period. The cloche features a refined white gold and diamond element on the band – reminiscent of the collection's signature film reel motif – and two matching pendants that drop from the sides like precious earrings. Damiani participates in the 24th edition of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie of Geneve (GPHG) with the magnificent Margherita Desert Garden secret watch, one of the beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces that forms part of the special collection dedicated to the Maison's Centenary. The precious timepiece competed in the "Jewellery" category and reached the final phase of the competition, together with the creations of five other exclusive brands in the luxury segment. From 12 September to 22 November 2024, it will also be one of the 90 creations featured in a special traveling exhibition, organized by the same entity of the prize, which will showcase in some of the most important cities in the world, including Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh-City, New York and Geneva. The Margherita Desert Garden jewel watch is a masterpiece in yellow and white gold, warmed by the hues of magnificent gemstones – brown diamonds (27.87 carats) and fancy vivid yellow diamonds (2.22 carats), colourless diamonds (5.39 carats) and emeralds (8.20 carats) in various skilfully combined cuts: princess, marquise and brilliant. Highlighting its new and innovative functionality, the Margherita Desert Garden secret watch stands out for its two striking central daisies, which can be delicately lowered thanks to a sophisticated mechanism to reveal the dials of the two underlying “secret” watches that can be set to two distinct time zones. In creating this refined work of art, the Maison’s skilled craftsmen worked more than 300 hours, of which 250 for manufacturing alone and 90 for the setting.
