Astradyne - Unfolding Space - We develop and manufacture Deployable Space Structures. Astradyne developed an innovative technology named FRET (Flexible, Reinforced Electronics with Textile), which reinforces Flex PCBs (flexible printed circuit boards) with textile materials. A technology initially designed for Origami-Inspired robots at NASA has been repurposed to enable reliable distributed sensing for deployable structures, such as inflatable modules, solar panels, and astronaut spacesuits. Today, Astradyne is developing SOLARCUBE an origami-inspired solar panels for aerospace applications leveraging FRET’s technology. 30% smaller, 50% lighter then any solution on the market, while providing 3 times the power. - Startup of the year at ITW2023 -
