Our CEO Marco Troncone talked to Reuters about the positive impacts of the ITA-Lufthansa deal, such as further boosting long-haul, business travel in Rome, thus enriching the quality of traffic at Rome #Fiumicino airport and leveraging its distinctive southern Europe hub role. According to our CEO, thanks to ADR’s strong investment commitment in infrastructure and in human capital, finally leading to the 5-stars award, a further development of ITA Airways / Lufthansa’s operations and ground value added services should be expected. In this context, Troncone also spoke about traffic’s growth at Fiumicino airport, heading to the 50 million passengers target in the near term; he also highlighted that the 90+ million passengers expected by 2046 will require a further sustainable expansion of the infrastructure. "Many other airports in Europe have a physical constraint on expansion, while here a long-term investment can be planned.” Read the full article 👇 https://lnkd.in/dgTqQNma #TogetherBeyondFlying

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the new direct flight from Rome Fiumicino to #Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, by ITA Airways! This new direct flight, with three weekly flights, marks the airline's second destination in Saudi Arabia after Riyadh, an important step forward to improve connectivity between Italy and Saudi Arabia, supporting tourism and trade between the two countries. Our Chief Aviation Officer, Ivan Bassato, shared his insights: "After a record year in 2023, the Saudi Arabian market continues to show very positive performance. In the first half of 2024, traffic from Rome Fiumicino grew by an additional 34% compared to the same period last year, with flows even quintupling compared to 2019. We believe this new ITA Airways connection to Jeddah will further strengthen this growth trend, benefiting mobility between Italy and Saudi Arabia and expanding interconnection opportunities to other international destinations directly from our hub, particularly ITA Airways' growing presence in the American market.” A special thanks to all participants who joined us at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, making this event truly memorable. #TogetherBeyondFlying
