Today, we’re excited to introduce Guido Siebers, Academy Manager in Boxmeer, Netherlands, who is also a dedicated amateur historian specializing in World War II. 📚 Guido’s fascination with his family's war history led him to explore the broader history of Boxmeer and its surrounding areas during WWII. In 2019, he co-authored the book "Tot frontgebied verklaard," documenting the liberation of Boxmeer from September 1944 to February 1945. His research continues as he delves into the May 1940 invasion of the Netherlands, with more findings on the horizon. Balancing his role at Marel with his passion for history requires prioritization and a lot of late-night research. Yet, the skills Guido hones at work—empathy, visualization, and clear communication—are key to his success as a historian. Guido’s advice for aspiring historians? “Start with a question that intrigues you and keep digging.
