International students at Rutgers are defined as non-immigrant visitors who have traveled to the U.S. to enroll in coursework. At the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences we further define international students as visitors who enrich our campus in both academic spaces and as members of our living and learning communities. Our students hail from 28+ countries and benefit from our small school environment with our big university resources. SEBS international students are pursuing a Rutgers degree. This is different from an international scholar or researcher who is defined as an individual visiting the university to participate in a short-term program such as an approved research internship, to teach a course, or to work directly with a faculty member in a local department. More information about visiting researchers/scholars can be found on the Rutgers Global website.
