Republic Day 2025: Traffic advisory issued in New Delhi; here’s all you need to know

Because of the Republic Day parade rehearsals, Central and South Delhi have experienced high traffic congestion in recent days, with hundreds of commuters left trapped on the road for many hours.

The Delhi Police issued traffic advice and announced specific plans for four days to guarantee the smooth operation of the Republic Day Parade along Kartavya Path.

Traffic diversions were also scheduled for the full-dress rehearsals on January 22 and the big Republic Day events on January 25, 2025.

Considerable traffic is predicted on important highways between Kartavya Path and Chhatrasal Stadium, where the state-level event will take place.

As per the advisory, it’s important to note that traffic restrictions will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on January 22 and 25.

Motorists are asked to take alternate routes and stay informed via Delhi Traffic Police’s official channels for real-time updates, while commuters shall plan their trips ahead of time to avoid inconvenience during Republic Day rehearsals and festivities.
