Therefore, with the development of information technology and increasing dynamism in the business environment, it is expected that these computers will be more intensively deployed. In this paper, research was conducted in Danube region countries: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. The aim of the research was to determine what criteria are most significant for the introduction of high-performance computing and the real situation in each of the countries. In addition, the aim was to establish the infrastructure needed to implement such a system. In order to determine the partial significance of each criterion and thus the possibility of implementing high-performance computing, a multi-crite...

The question of correlation between the educational structure of population with the employment market according to the methodology of Matsumoto in Bhula-or (2018) is taken into consideration. Occupations, unemployment and the future of the employment market, which is strongly influenced by the digitalisation, are presented. The article is theoretically supported by the concept of factories of the future. The professions of the future are mentioned in the paper as well. The results show that the distribution of the skill level in comparison with the occu-pations' groups in Slovenia is not entirely suitable, especially not for low and highly qualified occupations. This paper explores what types of localities were most resilient to the 2008 economic recession due to their socio-economic structure. Resilience was defined on the basis of a business cycle as the recovery to pre-recession value and is measured with the change in gross value added per employee by municipality in Slovenia (LAU 2), and the change in the registered unemployment rate. Descriptive statistics were used to determine the most resilient Slovenian municipalities’ socio-economic structure before the recession. It was found out that specialization, export and transport infrastructure had the greatest influence on local resilience, while economic development and social structure partly influenced it. This paper adds to the discussion of the vagueness of the concept of resilience by clarifying its definition and measurement. Findings about socio-economic structure’s influence on resilience are important for academics as well as practitioners who contribute to municipality’s ability to avoid or mitigate a future recession.

ABSTRACT Theoretically and terminologically about the concept of resilience Besides economists, geographers, especially abroad, have quickly responded to changes made by the recession. A response to it and a recovery afterwards is investigated with the concept of resilience, which is a novelty also in the Slovenian geographical scientific literature. The purpose of this paper is to define the concept of resilience and to explain its terminology, which should be used to investigate economic crisis and recovery afterwards in the Slovenian language. This paper is systematically divided, first, to the period before the recession, when regions conduct themselves with an economic growth, second to the period of recession, and third to the period of potential recovery afterwards.

Avtorica predstavlja vpliv gospodarske krize na to regijo in njene občine ter kako so se nanjo odzvali ter okrevali. V prispevku so bile s pomočjo statističnih podatkov pojasnjene medobčinske razlike družbeno-gospodarske sestave pred zadnjo gospodarsko krizo.

The world’s economic crisis in 2009 also influenced the Drava region, which had as well been influenced with rises and falls in the past. The purpose of this article is to introduce the influence of economic crisis on this region and its municipalities, how they responded to it and recovered from it. In this article inter-municipal differences in socio-economic structure have been explained with statistical data. Based on the interviews special attention was paid to stakeholders' functioning. Structural characteristics before the economic crisis have been examined. The findings have been evidenced by newer concept of resilience, which investigate response to sudden interruptions and recovery after then.

Firstly, the results of desktop research, interviews and workshops are presented in this article. Secondly, survey results from public and private centres as well as micro-companies from automotive and electronic sector are presented here. They all use open source high performance computing (HPC) software applications. Existing HPC application is mostly oriented towards science. Academic community in the Austrian research centres and universities have much knowledge about HPC (etc. the Vienna Scientific Cluster and the Austrian Centre for Scientific Computing). The most relevant conference for the scientific area of HPC is the Austrian HPC meeting. SMEs are the weakest and still barely visible actors in the Austrian innovation policy. The general awareness and uptake of HPC by the Austrian companies, especially SMEs, is quite low, as they do not see advantages of using HPC in the process of digitalisation. Companies find it hard to work together with their competitors. Promotion of education, training and research for Industry 4.0, creations of knowledge-and research-intensive business start-ups, as well as an acceleration and an integration of the digital transformation's awareness into companies' strategies, have been recommended. More effort should be put also in attracting young talented experts.
