They can influence a large number of people through rhetorical and psychological techniques. The task, Detection of Persuasion Techniques in Texts and Images, is to detect these persuasive techniques in memes. It consists of three subtasks: (A) Multi-label classification using textual content, (B) Multi-label classification and span identification using textual content, and (C) Multi-label classification using visual and textual content. In this paper, we propose a transfer learning approach to fine-tune BERT-based models in different modalities. We also explore the effectiveness of ensembles of models trained in different modalities. We achieve an F1-score of 57.0, 48.2, and 52.1 in the corresponding subtasks.

For most GPCRs, agonist-induced receptor phosphorylation leads to the recruitment of β-arrestin-1/β-arrestin-2; resulting in receptor desensitization and internalization. Activation of GPCRs also leads to ERK1/2 phosphorylation via two temporally distinct pathways; an early response that reflects G protein

The gap between electricity demand and supply is widening with every passing day. According to energy experts the electricity demand is rising by 8-10 percent per annum. If this tendency continues, the electricity demand would rise phenomenally. Hence, it is the need of the hour to take pragmatic measures not only by increasing power generation capacity but also reduction of demand through energy conservation. Energy conservation is the only short term measure which can fill the gap between demand and supply. We can save a lot of electricity through energy conservation which must be taken immediately to cope with the shortage of electricity Simple changes in people's behavior can quickly lead to significant energy savings, but such changes will only happen if the people are aware of the energy consumption that they have the power to control. Our project is another step in this regard. It uses state of art technology to implement a new way of harvesting the available energy resources by simply monitoring them to get our real-time energy usage data graphically.

However, pretreatment with YFa for 4 days led to the development of cross-tolerance to the analgesic effects of morphine and also 4 days of pretreatment of morphine resulted in the expression of tolerance to its own analgesic effects. Similar expression of tolerance and cross-tolerance were also observed when YFa was compared with the kappa receptor agonist peptide dynorphin A(1-13) [DynA(1-13)]. Cross-tolerance effects between YFa and DynA(1-13) analgesia were also not observed on day 5. Interestingly, when YFa and DynA(1-13) were tested for their analgesic effects for 5 days, reduction in analgesia on day 3 was observed in case of DynA(1-13) whereas YFa maintained its analgesia for 5 days. Thus, chimeric peptide YFa may serve as a useful probe to understand pain modulation and expression of tolerance and cross-tolerance behavior with other opioids.

An intensity based approach is used to detect the arbitrary shaped, uniform colored 2D area on which the hand operates, and then the fingertip is effectively detected and tracked using the sampled hand contour. Grid sampling approach is used for a fast implementation. The system achieves speeds of up to 30 fps. Tip pointers such as a stylus or a pen can be used in place of the fingertip, making the device user-friendly. The system is used to implement a virtual mouse, a signature input device and an application selector.
