These cases are often associated with pancreaticobiliary maljunction which is characterized by a long common shared pancreatobiliary channel leading to the Sphincter of Oddi. This predisposes the biliary epithelium to pancreatic enzyme reflux and makes the development of neoplasia more likely. We describe the case of a 64-year-old Caucasian female who presented with new jaundice and severe cholecystitis secondary to an impacted gallstone which was seen on ultrasound. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography was organized with suspicion of a possible Mirizzi syndrome. This revealed a mid-distal bile duct cancer in addition to cholecystitis from an impacted gallstone. She was treated with intravenous antibiotics for her cholecystitis and underwent an urgent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography procedure for biliary decompression and stenting for her obstructive jaundice. The patient proceeded to pancr...

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is the most common manifestation of rheumatoid lung disease. The ILDs associated with RA are diverse and it is very important for the general radiologist to differentiate one from another. There are many other pulmonary diseases apart from ILD. These are associated with a wide spectrum of morphologic changes with substantially different prognoses. The diagnosis of most of these diseases is by clinicoradiological correlation and some of them need pathologic correlation. High-resolution computed tomography helps to characterize and determine the extent of ILD in RA. When interpreting the high-resolution computed tomography of the chest in RA, the radiologist should be familiar with the findings in each entity and comment on activity of the disease, which helps in assessing the prognosis and need for active intervention. This pictorial essa...

It causes metabolic derangements and is often associated with liver tumours and other anomalies. Imaging plays an important role in the diagnosis of CEPS. However, it may be misleading in determining the type of shunt. We present a six-year-old girl with CEPS to illustrate the importance of histology in determining the presence of portal veins in the portal triad, which were too small to be seen on imaging.

The clinical features are non‐specific, and misdiagnosis is very common. Non‐invasive imaging is very useful in the diagnosis and management of this condition. Magnetic resonance imaging surpasses all other imaging modalities, as it is most specific and depicts the extent of the lesion accurately. Two cases of cavernous haemangioma of the rectum are presented highlighting the MRI features.

An incomplete duplication affecting only the anterior pituitary gland or the pituitary stalk has not been described so far. We report 2 such cases of partial duplication of the hypophysis and briefly review the literature.

Cross-sectional imaging plays an important role in the diagnosis and management of these patients. We reviewed our imaging record and collected representative cases of pediatric orbital pathology. The purpose of this pictorial essay is to illustrate the imaging features of various orbital lesions encountered in children.

Although present at birth, they usually manifest later in life. Ultrasonography, MRI and digital subtraction angiography play an important role in the diagnosis of these lesions. We report the imaging appearances of an unusual case of combined soft-tissue and intraosseous arteriovenous malformation (AVM) of the hand with marked periosteal elevation in a 12-year-old child. Although associated skeletal changes are common, diffuse periosteal elevation owing to direct communication of the AVM with the subperiosteal space has not, to the best of our knowledge, been reported previously.
