The "tip-stim" glove is such an example. The authors of the article present the results of work on supplementing this product in the form of electroconducting electrodes, made with the physical vacuum deposition method, attached to an existing glove. This supplement is intended for people with degenerations in the nerve systems

In this paper a time optimal control of a process of induction heating of steel ferromagnetic cha... more In this paper a time optimal control of a process of induction heating of steel ferromagnetic charge is described. The goal of the time optimal control is to create such a method of supplying the heater that the allowable from technological point of view temperature gradients in the heated charge are not exceeded. The heater and the charge, a pipe or cylinder, have been assumed to be infinitely long, so that one dimensional models of temperature and electromagnetic phenomena in the heated charge are used. The models and their numerical solutions are used in a classical, in the control theory, state equation which has been formulated for the system considered with some technological restrictions. It has been proved that in order to keep the temperature gradients not exceeding allowable values, the maximum active power delivered to the charge should be switched on and off at certain time instances. The article presents the results of the temperature measurements of the selected area of the body... more The article presents the results of the temperature measurements of the selected area of the body treated with a single exposure to electromagnetic field in the doses which are used in the magnetotherapy and magnetostimulation. The study was conducted on a group of 30 young healthy volunteers using the devices which are commonly used in electromagnetic physiotherapy. To evaluate the temperature thermal camera was used. Thermal imaging study which were performed after the exposure to the electromagnetic field do not show a significant change in the temperature of the examined area. The paper presents a numerical evaluation of electric field and SAR distribution in the trunk of ... more The paper presents a numerical evaluation of electric field and SAR distribution in the trunk of a 6-year-old boy. The analysis was done for two cases - a boy's trunk with and without an implant. The electric field and SAR distribution were compared with regard to reference levels recommended by EU. The summary of results indicates that a conductive object in between tissues does not cause notable local enhancement both in the electric field and SAR distribution.

The technological progress, and growing clinical evidence concerning the operation of the contemporary MR non-conditional CIEDs during MRI, have started to significantly change our every-day clinical practice. Nevertheless, a lot of patients who could have an MRI performed safely, still have been refused the examination. In many clinical situations, an MRI examination in a patient with a CIED is reasonable, and is linked to a negligible risk of complications if performed under strict precautions. That is for many reasons but two of them are of special importance: 1. BEM allows to analyse the skin-effect in a very accurate way since the internal point can be chosen as close to the boundary as an analyst wishes 2. using BEM in transient problems one avoids numerical differentiation in time which may cause some indeterminate errors.

The proposed approach offers a relatively simple methodology of energy deposition, allowing an adequate temperature control at the target tissue, in this case a cancerous one. By means of a numerical method the authors aim to investigate two heating effects caused by varying magnetic fields, i.e. to compare the power density heating effects of eddy currents and magnetic nanoparticles.Design/methodology/approachIn order to numerically investigate the combination of the overheating effect of magnetic nanoparticles and eddy currents, the Finite Element Method solver based on FEniCS project has been prepared. To enlarge the area of mobile phone availability one needs to fine a base antenna network. This means that the base antennas are closer and closer to people. Each antenna is the source of electromagnetic fields, and thus it has to be designed carefully with respect to public health. The standards are different for the general public and for occupational groups. In Polish standards, the limits for the frequency range of 0.3-300 GHz are expressed in power density with value of 0.1 W/m2. The EU standards are more sophisticated as they relate limit values to frequencies. This paper presents these values and other limits binding in the EU countries. Other limits are laid down for the population of workers. In this respect, there is a considerable discrepancy between the Polish and EU standards.
