  • Asymmetric Price-Volume relationship: Evidence from eight major stock indices around the world

    1) Model the relationship using an autoregressive-distributed lag (ARDL) model with order
    selection based on Schwartz Bayesian information criterion (SBC) to find out the long term and short term relationships between the volume of transactions and associated price-change.
    2) Determine the presence of asymmetry in the relationship using statistical tests and other relevant measures

  • Bi-objective portfolio optimization with pre-selection strategy

    Bi-objective portfolio optimization using mean-variance portfolio theory implementing the box and cardinality constraints
    • Implemented a pre-selection strategy to reduce the computational complexity and assist with frequent dynamic rebalancing of the portfolio
    • Reduced the sample space of assets from 150 to 23 and found that the new portfolio performed as well as the original one

    • Pricing of HDFC Standard Life IPO using industry average and balance sheet positions of peers to judge whether the IPO was overpriced
    • Analyzed the performance and growth of the company over the past few years and market position to decide investing strategy
