This would be the least used item category in SAP MM Whats the process : You create a PO with Item Category T Text - Send it across to the vendor. There will be no MIGO or MIRO for this PO. This PO is for information purposes only. Real World Example : Your automotive factory is located in Detroit. You have raised a Standard PO with a vendor for installation of safety sensors in your factory. The activity is to be carried out over a period of six months. Your operations are complex and you need to convey to the vendor all the sequential scope of work. You will create a Text PO for every visit by the vendor team. All particulars related to the activity will be entered in the Text PO. A. Timings B. Safety pre requisites C. Technical Scope of work D. Machines Functional Location E. Contact Person Information Text PO is used purely for information purposes. The vendor team can carry a copy of the Text PO while entering the factory premises for the agreed activity. Planned orders are created in material requirements planning to cover the requirements. Planned orders for materials that are to be produced in-house represent a demand to produce a material. They are converted to production orders or process orders. The basic dates, material components, and quantities required for production are contained as items in the planned order and are copied directly when the planned order is converted to a production order or process order. On conversion, the dependent requirements for the components are also converted into reservations.
