It was an honor to act as a Testing Partner for the TOM FORD Plastic Innovation Prize powered by Lonely Whale, the first phase of their award-winning #UnwrapTheFuture program! 🐋 Our testing was primarily focused on biological degradation, to better understand how different materials behave in both the temperate marine environment and in an organism’s internal environment (which, in our case, meant a simulated whale stomach) if they aren’t disposed of properly and end up in the ocean. Together, we helped accelerate the adoption of prize-winning seaweed-based alternatives to traditional thin-film plastic by trailblazing innovators Sway, Zerocircle, and Notpla.
