I am so proud of you, Dear Sumeet Ji, and the whole Wayanad Team. Keep up the excellent work. 👏🏻
From the frontlines of resilience As the series of seasonal disasters unfolded in the country from June end SEEDS Sumeet Agarwal led work in Wayanad that has allowed children scarred by unimaginable loss to return to school. Our teams checked in on work done last year in Cachar, Assam. We also began work in neighbouring Tripura. As part of the first day of our Deaf Awareness Week celebrations, we are sharing some basics of Indian Sign Language (ISL)! In this video, we’ll see how to sign simple words like 'Hello' or 'Good Morning,' and introduce you to the ISL alphabet. These demonstrations are brought to you by the deaf students of the Diploma in Teaching Indian Sign Language (DTISL) program, studying at the Indian Sign Language Research And Training Centre (ISLRTC), New Delhi. Basic Greetings: Rahul Jha, Harsh Jain, Kunali Sharma, Stanly Abraham, Anjali Katheriya, and Suhaib Khan. ISL Alphabet: Ashutosh Singh. One of the highlights of this phase of Digital Storytellers for Social Change where we are focusing on Disability and Older Age Inclusion has been the steep learning curve for our team. Enthusiastic workshop participants like Madhu Mohan remind us that learning is never one-way. We have been travelling all around #India with these learning sessions in the past two months. Here are some glimpses from a session in #Chennai. Ajay Govind Remya Sasindran v-shesh Elrha
Happy to have attended a workshop on Video-based storytelling led by Words Rhythms Images in collaboration with v-shesh on 24th August 2024. The session began with an engaging ice-breaking activity and smoothly transitioned into the fundamentals of storytelling through videos. Mr. Ajay Govind, Writer/Director and founder of Words Rhythms Images, beautifully covered the technical aspects, making the session incredibly insightful. As social workers, learning to document professionally for a social change was especially valuable. I’m grateful for this opportunity to explore how visual storytelling can amplify our impact. Key learnings include the idea that social change and stories are driven by purpose. We also delved into key terms such as B-roll, Cutaways, Montage, Panning, Titling, and many more. Special thanks to v-shesh for the opportunity and to Mr. @Ajay Govind for an incredibly informative session!

#Mumbai was our next stop in our series of Digital Storytellers for Social Change training sessions for people with #disabilities and the elderly. In collaboration with partner and subject matter expert, v-shesh, we got to lead a session with a mixed group of participants with hearing impairment and neurotypical and neurodivergent participants. The session was filled with moments of shared learning, creativity, and mutual understanding. It was truly heartwarming to witness the genuine enthusiasm and collaboration that transpired throughout the workshop, highlighting the profound impact of storytelling in connecting communities. #DigitalStorytelling #Inclusion Ajay Govind mayank rai Remya Sasindran

We just finished a training session on Digital Storytelling for Social Change (DiSSC) with a very engaged group from Youth4Jobs Foundation in #Hyderabad. Once again it was inspiring to see how those who attend the training find their own unique ways of expressing the stories that they have. A great learning experience for all of us. 🎉 Celebrating 16 Years of Creativity! 🎉 July is always special for us. This month each year we celebrate our anniversary. This year words. rhythms. images reaches 16 years of growth and meaningful collaborations. Over the years, we've been fortunate to work with a diverse range of organisations and individuals, creating impactful films, engaging training programmes, and effective communications solutions. As we move forward, we're excited about the new international partnerships that we have forged in the past year. WRI's presence outside of India is growing and this is an exciting direction for us. This is a testament to our dedicated work and long-term relationships we've built over the years. This year, we look forward to more such creative work and making an even greater impact with everything we do. We couldn’t have achieved this without our long-term collaborators, including our dedicated team members, who continue to contribute diligently and passionately to our work. A heartfelt thank you to all our clients, partners, and supporters for being part of this journey.

We have reached #Kerala with our series of Digital Storytellers for Social Change (DiSSC) training sessions focusing on #disability and older age inclusion. We just completed two sessions in #Trivandrum with incredible participants who are all set to begin their journey with digital storytelling. Our gratitude to @fdaction and Ramesh Krishnan for making this happen! Bringing #DiSSC back to Kerala is special as this is where we first conceptualised the digital storytelling model under the grant we got from the #HumanitarianInnovationFund and Elrha in 2020. Four years down, our association continues to be strong and it is with their support that are we now able to take #DiSSC to 10 different cities around #India! Ajay Govind Remya Sasindran

Here are some glimpses from our Digital Storytellers for Social Change (DiSSC) training session with Citizens for Green Doon. We had much fun working with this vibrant group of environmental activists who are playing a critical part in keeping the beautiful city of #Dehradun green. We got together to talk about how digital storytelling can be incorporated into their community mobilisation work and to spread the word about the great work they are doing.
