Who is a great teacher? I'm asked this question often, and I still don't have a definitive answer. Is it someone with deep subject knowledge, a keen understanding of psychology, or a knack for empathy?  Perhaps it's someone who cares deeply, who inspires, or who articulates ideas in a way that sparks interest? While many aspects contribute, I believe the heart of great teaching is intent. Your reason for teaching is paramount. When your purpose is clear, the rest will follow. On this Teacher's Day, I extend my gratitude to all teachers who have chosen this path, who tirelessly strive to better humanity. Because of you, we evolve. Who is a teacher? This one's easier: Anyone who intentionally – or even unintentionally – teaches is a teacher. This isn't limited to humans; animals teach their young to fly or hunt. From Heartbreak to Gold🥇for India🇮🇳- Daksh’s Inspiring Journey Daksh had always been a bright student with a deep love for physics. His dream was to bring gold for India by representing the country at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO). In 2023, after months of intense preparation, he competed in the Online Physics Olympiad (OPhO) and secured third place globally. This achievement fueled his confidence as he set his sights on the National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP), the first step toward his IPhO dream. But life had other plans. Despite his dedication and hard work, Daksh didn’t clear the NSEP. The news shattered him. The dream he had nurtured for so long seemed to slip away, leaving him with a deep sense of failure and doubt. Amidst this heartbreak, Daksh discovered a small glimmer of hope—he had unexpectedly cleared the National Standard Examination in Astronomy (NSEA), an exam he had taken without any serious preparation. It was a turning point. Instead of giving up, Daksh chose to shift his focus to astronomy, reigniting his passion for learning and exploration. He poured his heart into studying the cosmos, determined to bring gold for India in another field. His perseverance paid off when he earned a spot on the Indian team for the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA). In 2024, Daksh stood on the podium with a GOLD medal for India, not just as a victor, but as a symbol of resilience and the power of never giving up. Daksh’s journey is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the drive to bring gold for India. His story reminds us that even in our darkest moments, there is always a path forward—one that can lead to even greater triumphs. Monumental year we had here at Vedantu where 4 students of ours represented India at International Olympiads. More significantly 2 students got #GoldForIndia. This is incredible by all standards! Special Kudos to Anand Prakash for this vision. I remember Anand telling me 5 years back that I want India to come number 1 in International Olympiads and then he went on and created VEDANTU OLYMPIAD SCHOOL - VOS and we are starting to see the impact. Super proud of the entire team. Onwards and upwards 🚀

🌟 Our Journey to Gold for India 🌟 Since the very beginning of our journey in 2008, I have been deeply influenced by the world of Olympiads. The sheer talent and dedication required to compete on a global scale fascinated me. My dream has always been to see India among the top 5 or top 3 in these prestigious competitions, where hundreds of countries participate. However, like in the Olympics, we often found ourselves outside the top 10 in most Olympiads. In 2018, after a long discussion with Pulkit and Vamsi, we decided to take a bold step. We envisioned a separate wing within Vedantu, solely focused on bringing #gold4India. That’s how Vedantu Olympiad School was born—a dedicated effort to train and prepare students for these toughest global competitions, starting as early as the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The journey has been long and challenging, but the results are now beginning to show. Last year, we celebrated a gold medal in Physics, and this year, we have surpassed even our own expectations with two golds—one in the Biology Olympiad and another in the Astronomy Olympiad. And, this is just the beginning. The seeds we planted years ago are now germinating, and we are committed to pushing India’s ranking into the top 3 globally. This journey has been a labor of love and dedication, and I am incredibly proud of our students, our VOS team, and the collective effort that has made this dream a reality.
