As someone who has built a brand around innovative food experiences, I firmly believe that experiential dining is the future of the food industry. Today, diners expect more than just a meal—they crave an experience that engages all their senses. It’s no longer enough to serve great food; the atmosphere, presentation, and overall vibe must contribute to a memorable experience. At Twenty1 Food Court, we’ve embraced this by offering a fusion of Indo-Chinese flavors and curating an environment that captivates diners. For instance, our open kitchen concept allows customers to witness the artistry behind their meals, making them a part of the process. This creates an emotional connection, something that traditional dining often lacks. Experiential dining also involves integrating technology. We’ve begun incorporating digital menus and interactive displays, which enhance convenience and add to the overall ambiance. It’s about making every moment—right from ordering to the last bite—engaging. Ultimately, experiential dining isn’t just a trend; it reflects how consumers’ expectations have evolved. The future lies in creating holistic, immersive dining experiences that offer more than just food but also lasting memories. As a hotelier and food entrepreneur, my goal is to stay at the forefront of this shift, ensuring every dining moment at our outlets is unforgettable. One critical factor that is a major reason for many entrepreneurial failures. Honestly speaking, I did too! But Covid was my teacher. Most, these days are obsessed with quick wins and fast results. People often believe that if their business doesn’t take off within a few months, they’ve failed. I don’t believe in that. The truth is, that success—especially in business—is about having patience over the long haul. Most food businesses fail within their first year, even under normal circumstances. The funny thing is, I started just before COVID-19, and you can imagine what kind of challenge that was. It taught me patience and that patience is about continuing to adapt, learn, and push forward, even when the results aren’t immediate. And while many businesses, especially in the food industry, crumbled, we not only survived, we grew. We adapted our strategy, it took us time and a lot of patience to see results, but the payoff was huge. For me, waiting for the right moment to strike is often more valuable than rushing into things. The results don’t show up immediately, but when they do, they’re worth the wait. Also, think about what you could achieve if you focused more on sustainable growth instead of quick wins. Leadership is tough, but what makes it tougher is the pressure we put on ourselves to be perfect. When I transitioned from the safety net of working in large organizations to running my own business, the biggest shift I felt was the weight of fast decision-making. In big organizations, working as an employee, you’re part of a system where decisions unravel slowly, and responsibility is shared. But in entrepreneurship, that safety net disappears. Being at the top of every decision—big or small—it is your’s to make. Expanding to over 200+ stores in just four years was exhilarating, but also overwhelming. And I learned quickly that it’s impossible to make every decision perfectly. Initially, I pushed myself too hard, expecting to get everything right. But the truth is, mistakes are part of the journey. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is to be kind to myself. The pressure to make every move flawless is unrealistic. As entrepreneurs, we need to accept that not all decisions will be perfect. What matters is how quickly we learn and adapt from those missteps. The faster you allow yourself room to learn, the more resilient you’ll become in both business and life. So fellow entrepreneurs, the next time you’re faced with a tough decision, remember to be as kind to yourself as you are to others. In your journey, how do you allow yourself more grace and allow room for mistakes? Chalu Aapna Desi Chinese Twenty1 Food Court The Indian Momo Co #india #hoteliers #resort #foodie
