We at Erba Transasia were honored to participate in a productive and insightful meeting last weekend at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone Limited, Visakhapatnam, with Shri Sujeet Kumar (Chairman of the Committee on Petitions, Rajya Sabha) and Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD & CEO of AMTZ. The event was also graced by Shri Rajiv Wadhawan (Joint Secretary, Cost, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India), Shri Chandrashekar Ranga (Joint Drugs Controller India), Shri Sanjay Kumar (DOP Advisor), Hitendra Sahu (DOP Director), KIHT CEO & COO, Smt. Sumitra Balmik (MP, Rajya Sabha), Shri Rajendra Gehlot (MP, Rajya Sabha), and other distinguished guests. During the meeting, Mr. L B Gautam, Sr. GM - Government Business at Transasia, highlighted the importance of enforcing the Make in India policy at the state level through a mandatory act. He advocated for technical specifications that would prioritize Indian manufacturers, especially in cases where NHM funds cover a significant portion of the budget. Additionally, he encouraged MPs to scrutinize the procurement of locally made instruments in their constituencies and the allocation of MPLAD funds. To further reduce reliance on imports and enhance domestic production, he proposed the formation of a high-level joint committee, involving DOP, DPIIT, and MOHFW, to oversee the situation, address concerns, and curtail the import of instruments already produced in India. Dr. Jitendra Sharma supported these proposals and added valuable insights. He suggested that MPs could champion the Make in India initiative by hosting a major medical device exhibition at both Parliaments to raise awareness and promote locally manufactured products. The visit to Transasia’s manufacturing plant at the AMTZ Campus was a proud moment, with evident admiration for the facilities and affordable medical instruments that serve millions daily. The MPs and officials expressed their support for the proposals, making the meeting highly valuable. jotwani anil #IAmTransasia #WeAreErba #MakeInIndia #NHM #medicaldevices #pathology #IVD #labmedicines

We are honoured to have participated in the 197th C-CAMP InDx Round Table that highlighted key advancements in diagnostics, focusing on indigenous MPox IVD kits. Dr. Akhilesh Rawat, General Manager – R&D Reagents, Transasia Bio-Medicals Ltd. highlighted the latest advancements and provided updates on CDSCO-approved ErbaMDx MonkeyPox RT-PCR Kit - India’s first indigenously developed kit. The kit's lyophilized components, which allow for shipping and storage at ambient temperatures, are particularly advantageous for deployment in regions with limited cold chain infrastructure. This feature expands access to reliable diagnostics in underserved areas, helping to bridge the healthcare gap in critical situations. Further, ErbaMDx Monkey Pox Real Time PCR Kit is designed for use with commercially available open-platform real-time PCR systems. Consequently, it is suitable for application in any PCR testing laboratory developed for molecular diagnostics testing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event featured an engaging Q&A session with experts on the validation process for these diagnostics. This round table was a key platform for discussing the progress of indigenous MPox diagnostics and their approval status, emphasizing the collaborative efforts in advancing public health solutions.
