In a significant boost to India's Energy Sector, REC Limited and THDC India Limited (THDCIL) announced a pivotal collaboration through a MOU aimed at advancing the development of Power Projects across the nation. Shri R.K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited, conveyed his heartfelt wishes on the signing of this groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with REC Limited. The MoU sets out a comprehensive framework for REC Limited to provide financial support to THDCIL for diversified Energy Projects. This includes funding for the Creation, Upgradation, Renovation, and Maintenance of Power Generation and Supply Systems. Sh. Vivek Kumar Dewangan, (IAS), CMD, REC and Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical), signed the MOU on the behalf of REC and THDCIL respectively. Sh. Under the terms of the MoU, REC Limited will extend financial assistance for THDCIL’s projects. Sh. To address the advancement of Hydro Power Projects within the state of Arunachal Pradesh, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu, reviewed the status of #Hydropower_Projects at 6th Steering Committee Meeting held on Tuesday at Itanagar, #Arunachal_Pradesh. THDC India Limited (THDCIL), has been assigned the Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project (HEP) with a capacity of 1200 MW. A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between THDCIL and the Arunachal Pradesh Government on December 30, 2023, to facilitate this project’s implementation. Sh. R.K. THDC India Limited a pioneering entity in the #PowerSector, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the #Department_of_Water_Resources, #Governmen_of_Maharashtra (GoMWRD) for harnessing of #PumpedStorageEnergy through six number of #Pumped_Storage_Projects (PSPs) in #Maharashtra, totalling a remarkable 6,790 MW capacity and involving a proposed investment of more than ₹33,600 crores in the presence of Sh. THDC India Limited achieved another significant milestone on 30.08.2024 as its Corporate Bond Series XI of Rs. 600 Crore oversubscribed 8 times underscoring its Financial success. Shri R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDCIL, expressed his sincere gratitude to the investors for their overwhelming response to the bond issuance. He added that this accomplishment underscores the confidence of investors in THDCIL’s financial stability and operational performance. The competitive coupon rate of 7.72% p.a. discovered through BSE–Electronic Bidding Platform, further reinforces the trust placed in THDCIL Corporate Bonds. Additionally, these bonds have received a credit rating of “AA outlook Positive” from India Ratings and “AA outlook Stable” from CARE, emphasizing the company's robust creditworthiness. Shri Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance) THDCIL while expressing satisfaction over overwhelming response from the investors informed that the issue comprises of a base size of Rs 200 Crore and a green shoe option of Rs 400 Crore, i.e. total issue size of Rs 600 Crore, with a tenor of 10 years. The funds raised through this issue will be utilized to partly meet debt requirements of THDCIL’s ongoing and under-construction projects including recoupment of expenditure already incurred and to refinance the existing loans. He further mentioned that the bonds issue attracted considerable investor interest, leading to a noteworthy oversubscription of approximately 8 times the base issue size, amounting to Rs 1540 Crore. The bidding for this successful bond issue took place on August 30, 2024 at THDCIL's Corporate Office in Rishikesh in the presence of Shri Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance), Shri A.K. Garg, CFO, Ms. Rashmi Sharma, Company Secretary, THDCIL and Ms. Hemlata Agarwal, BSE Head Northern Region, Fixed Income. As of present, THDCIL has issued a total of 11 series of Bonds and has successfully raised funds amounting to Rs. 9142 Crore from the corporate debt market. THDC India Limited has achieved a significant milestone in the development of the 4x250 MW Variable Speed Tehri Pumped Storage Project (#PSP), Tehri. Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director informed that on August 28, 2024, the Tehri-Koteshwar Line #3 was successfully energized for the first time, bringing the nation closer to its first 1000 MW #VariableSpeedPumpedStorage Project. The charging of Line #3 is a crucial step forward as it enables the back charging of the Generator Step-Up (GSU) transformer for Unit #5. This, in turn, facilitates the drawl of startup power necessary for #Voltage_Source_Inverter (VSI) testing and further commissioning activities. Sh. Vishnoi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the entire PSP team, acknowledging their dedication and relentless efforts in bringing this milestone to fruition.
