  • Warning for Sabarimala pilgrims & senior citizens 🚨 #Scammers are targeting you! Imagine you're preparing for a sacred journey or enjoying your well-earned retirement when suddenly, a call or message comes in. Someone on the other end claims they're from the Govt., bank, or an insurance provider. They appear friendly and legitimate. But here’s the catch… They’re after your hard-earned money! 😳 Recently, the Puducherry Cyber Crime Police issued a crucial alert regarding #scams preying on Sabarimala pilgrims and senior citizens. Here’s what you need to know 👇 🙏 For Sabarimala Pilgrims: Sc@mmers have allegedly been exploiting the Kerala Govt.’s recent announcement of Rs 5 lakh compensation for the accidental death of any Sabarimala pilgrim. They are asking for “processing fees,” GST, and other charges, assuring pilgrims they’ll receive Rs 5 lakh in compensation in case of any mishap. But it’s all fake! ❌❌ The Kerala government has not mandated any fees for that insurance cover. So, if someone contacts you asking for payment for any “enrollment,” don’t transfer a single rupee. Instead, reach out to the police and report the sc@m! 👴 For Senior Citizens and Pensioners: There’s also a surge in fraud targeting elderly citizens and pensioners. Sc@mmers are posing as bank officials, requesting sensitive information - KYC details, Aadhaar numbers, Pension Payment Orders (PPO), and even OTPs. Under the pretence of “account updates,” they access bank accounts and steal funds. The police have reported over 50 cases, with losses exceeding Rs 40 lakh! And also flagged various other #cyberscams like: ❌ Fake job offers promising easy money ❌ Investment schemes claiming high returns ❌ Threatening messages claiming your SIM card will be blocked unless you “confirm your identity” by transferring money. It’s high time we all - ✅ Stay Alert and a Little Sceptical: Never transfer money or share personal details if approached unexpectedly. ✅ Verify the Source: Cross-check with official helplines before making any payments or providing sensitive information. ✅ Ignore Threatening Messages: Real authorities or companies won’t demand money to “prevent an arrest” or “unblock a SIM.” If you or someone you know is approached in such a way, contact the Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930 or call the Puducherry police at 9489205246 or 0413-2276144. • 9L+ Indians lost lives to cancer in a year! 🚨 And here’s a reality check - Your daily habits, your regular diet, your go-to beverage, the lifestyle you have chosen for yourself, or the living conditions you are bound to stay in - can potentially lead to cancer. 🤕 Things that may seem normal, potentially lead to the development of cancer in 1 in 5 people around the world, during their lifetime. While nobody yet has the ultimate cure, there are still some ways to reduce the risk, like: ✅ Strictly avoiding tobacco consumption. Even secondhand smoking might increase the risk of lung cancer. ✅ Adding more fruits and vegetables to the diet, lowering alcohol consumption, and regulating processed meat consumption can help too.  ✅ Keeping a check on weight. Adding regular physical activity in your routine. ✅ Keeping skin covered under the sun, applying and reapplying sunscreen is a must, and staying in shade can help prevent skin cancer. ✅ Taking vaccinations against Hepatitis B and Human Papillomavirus. Besides these simple yet crucial steps, early diagnosis and timely treatment can prevent 40% of all cancer cases too. So make sure to never miss a routine check-up to know what’s up with your body. And if god forbid, the slightest hint of danger shows up, make sure you have comprehensive Health Insurance AND a Critical Illness (CI) plan that supports you financially while you focus on healing. Why both? Because unlike Health Insurance, which covers hospitalization costs, CI insurance provides a sum of money upon diagnosis of a listed serious illness, like cancer. ✅ This payout isn’t limited to treatment - it can help with the extra costs like home care, alternative therapies, and also be a replacement for the loss of income due to illness. Want to explore them for yourself and your loved one? We got your back :) DM us or check the link in our comments! 👇 #NationalCancerAwarenessDay #cancer #healthcare #awareness #infographic #healthcare #standuptocancer #cancerawareness #HPVVaccine

  • 🥳 Great news for 13.4 million+ PNG users! You may soon have insurance coverage - just like LPG users already do.   The Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is considering insurance coverage for piped natural gas (PNG) consumers. 📝 In their public notice, they said the insurance would protect both consumers and workers from the risks of handling natural gas. A similar comprehensive insurance is provided to LPG consumers by Oil Marketing Companies under the Public Liability Policy for Oil Industries. It covers LPG accident victims in the following ways - 👉 Rs 6 lakhs per person in case of personal accidental death 👉 Rs 30 lakhs per event - max Rs 2 lakhs per person - for medical expenses 👉 Max Rs 2 lakhs per event for property damage, if the accident has happened at the registered address of authorised customer Now since PNG replaces LPG for cooking, the board believes PNG users deserve the same safety net. Providing the security of insurance would reduce risks and give consumers more confidence to opt for PNG in their kitchens, enhancing both safety and trust. 😊 For more such insightful posts covering the A-Z of insurance, follow SMC Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd 💚 #PNGRB #insurance #PNG #gascylinders #fuel #governmentofindia

  • How could a Cyber Crime Lawyer get #scammed by a fake insurance agent?! 🚨 You’ve probably received messages or calls promising lotteries or high-value products at incredibly low prices, right? Those offers SHOULDN’T be believed! Just ask Nitin Soni, a cyber crime lawyer who received a similar call last year… A woman called Nitin, claiming to represent a popular insurance platform. She told him his car insurance was about to expire and offered a suspiciously low-priced motor insurance policy. After a brief call, she moved their conversation to WhatsApp, where her display picture matched that of a well-known insurance broker. She even sent emails from a domain name that looked identical to the broker’s. It all seemed legitimate, so Nitin paid the premium - Rs 17,700. But then things took a turn. When he looked at the policy cover letter on WhatsApp, he noticed a spelling error in his name. Concerned, he contacted the number from the emails. To his shock, neither the insurance company nor the broker had any record of his policy! How could that happen? The email domain matched. The account he transferred money to was even under the broker’s name. So… what went wrong? After investigating, Nitin discovered that the account he transferred money to wasn’t actually under the broker’s name - it belonged to someone named Dharmendra Prasad. He’d been sc@mmed! Turns out, even if you enter the account number and IFSC code correctly, money can still go to an account under a different name. According to the Indian Post Payment Bank, banks don’t necessarily verify account names for online transactions. Nitin reported the #fraud to the police, who are now on the hunt for the culprits. But until these scammers are caught, here’s how you can protect yourself: Never Share Personal Info on Unauthorised Platforms: Don’t share personal or financial details on unverified calls or websites. Confirm the caller’s identity through official communication channels. Beware of Offers That Sound Too Good to Be True: Scammers often attract victims with irresistible deals. Always verify product details on the official website and buy only when you’re fully informed. Choose Reputable Insurance Partners: Buy insurance only from trustworthy, well-known, and authorised places, like SMC Insurance Brokers Pvt Ltd For more such important insights from crazy #InsuranceScams, hit the follow button! #fraud #cyberfraud #fraudalert #scam #motorinsurance #cybercrime
