Creating future leaders and serving the community!!

About us

The Rotaract Club of DY Patil Deemed University School of Management was established in August 2018. The Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Bayside is our sponsored Rotary. We are situated in Belapur, Navi Mumbai and are a part of Zone-1 of the Rotaract International District 3142. We, at RaC-DYPUSM, focus on social engagement and charitable and community development projects to improve and bring happiness to those we serve. Chartered by Rtr. Abdul Rahman Shaikh in 2018, RaC-DYPUSM began its journey with a handful of driven and enthusiastic students. Project Disha, our annual charter project was the brainchild of Rtr Abdul and his team. In 2019, the baton was passed to Rtr. Harshita Rai and her team conducted projects with the aim of philanthropy in the year 2019-20 which brought smiles to people's faces. In the year 2020-21, under the leadership of Rtr. Seemantini Shekdar, the club grew from a small group of driven students to a family of over 70 passionate and diligent members. In 2021, the baton was passed on to Rtr. Kshitij Chakraborty and his team. Just like the teams before them, this team also worked towards taking the club to new heights. They set a new bar for the next team just like the previous teams did for them. In spite of the challenges we faced in the year, we have looked forward to improving ourselves and creating meaningful and engaging projects to bring joy in our lives and to those whom we serve and we aim to do so in the year 2022-23 too.

  • The year 2020-21 was a year of a lot of firsts for the club. Starting the year as a revived club, it was a crucial one and the future of the club depended on the functioning throughout the year. It was during this year that we participated in our first ever District events, launched the Annual Magazine or Club Bulletin and Club Merchandise and created a website and Discord Server for the club. Starting the year with 21 members, we went on to become a huge family of 73 members by the end of the year. In spite of the lockdown, we successfully conducted 75 projects throughout the year with some notable ones being Sur Sangam - Ek Awaaz Shahidon ke Naam: an Independence day initiative, Plastic Collection Drive, EntreBrainer, NEXT - Think Tank, Love You Zindagi: an initiative spreading awareness about mental illnesses and prioritizing mental health, HERstory: an International Girl Child day initiative, Youth Against Addiction: a project conducted with the Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Bayside and E-RYLA. We also conducted some letterhead exchanges with clubs in Bangalore and Nashik.I had been a part of the club for only a year as the International Service Director with no experience in managing the district affairs on any level before being handed the Presidentship of the club in a year where there was no margin of making errors and I am very grateful for the learnings and experiences that I have had in my Presidential year since they have helped me grow into the person I am today. It was a year filled with challenges since no one had any experience in navigating activities on a large scale online and meeting up was not an option for a major part of the year, but I'm glad and super proud that we sailed through it smoothly and emerged stronger than ever.  Seemantini Shekdar, President and PIS Director 2020-21

  • As the charter president, I bore significant responsibility not only in overseeing the club but also in laying the foundation for future success, ensuring RCDYPUSM's survival and growth. Despite our newness and limited resources, my team and I successfully undertook various projects, from participating in other club events to organizing sports activities on our premises. We even ventured beyond the city, cleaning forts, spreading awareness, and providing guidance and counseling to high school students about their future studies. However, the highlight remains the success of Project Disha, where we guided and counseled high school kids, witnessing some of them make informed career choices. Maintaining contact with these individuals as they flourish today is the most treasured memory, reflecting the impact we made and the achievements we attained.

  • Over the course of four transformative years with Rotaract, this non-profit organization has not only been a beacon for personal growth and friendship but has also been a guiding force, revealing the profound joy of giving back to the community. Rotaract instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility, highlighting the transformative impact individuals can have on their community.Initially drawn to Rotaract for personal development and social connections, I soon found the organization to be a powerful platform for community service. Engaging in a variety of projects from local clean-up drives to educational initiatives I discovered the tangible satisfaction that comes from contributing to the betterment of society. Each endeavor became a lesson in empathy and the joy of selfless service. Rotaract's commitment to community service extends beyond mere tasks; it's about understanding and actively addressing the needs of the community. Through these experiences, I learned that giving back is not just about charity; it's a reciprocal relationship that fosters a sense of shared responsibility and collective growth. Rotaract became a driving force in shaping my values, emphasizing the importance of social responsibility and the role of individuals in creating positive change. Moreover, Rotaract provided a unique space where I could channel my skills and enthusiasm into projects that directly benefited those in need. This aspect of the organization has become a cornerstone of my values, reinforcing the belief that positive change starts with the actions of individuals. As I reflect on my time with Rotaract, I see more than personal development and friendship; I see a narrative of discovering the joy and significance of contributing to the well-being of the community. It's a lesson that extends beyond the confines of meetings and projects, echoing the profound truth that, as an individual, I have the capacity to make a meaningful difference in the world. Rotaract, in essence, has been my companion on a journey of self-discovery, community impact, and the realization that the truest form of fulfillment comes from giving back.

  • The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, and she took that step and joined Rotaract. "They say everything happens for a reason," and her reason for joining Rotaract was to improve herself. She joined Rotaract back in 2020, and from being a general body member to serving as a joint community service director, her journey is like a roller-coaster ride. From being afraid to talk to people to attending meetings and projects like Disha 2.0 and many more, she grew like a flower. Her name is Rtr.Riddhi Kolhe. That girl we saw back then and now is so different and more confident, and this is all because of Rotaract, she says. It's been 3 years now she is a part of Rotaract, and these 3 years her personality has changed from being shy to being bold. "Look at you, girl, you made it."
