With the introduction of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Taxonomy (ISSB taxonomy)📊, issuers can now report their sustainability data digitally. This move makes the CIPC - Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (a member of the dtic Group) (CIPC) the first regulator in the world to allow this.🌱 What does the updated CIPC taxonomy include?  It contains the latest IFRS Accounting Taxonomy amendments for 2024 and features entry points for the IFRS S1 and S2 standards, enabling early adopters to digitally tag their sustainability disclosures.🖊️ Will this be the catalyst for a global shift in corporate transparency?🌏 This initiative could revolutionize reporting, aligning South Africa with global sustainability standards and paving the way for mandatory digital sustainability reporting in the future. Australia’s Bold Step Towards Climate Transparency From January 2025, large companies in Australia will disclose climate-related financial data, aligning with International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards. This legislation underscores Australia’s commitment to sustainability and positions it as a global leader in climate reporting. By mandating disclosures for Scope 1, 2, and, eventually, Scope 3 emissions, Australia paves the way for greater accountability and aligns itself with global best practices. It is with deep sorrow that we share the heart breaking news of losing one of our dearest team members, Arvind Tatkare. The passing of such a dedicated, warm, and joyful soul feels like an emotional wound for everyone at IRIS. Arvind’s smile and spirit lit up our workplace, greeting each of us with the same warmth and affection every day. The pain of not seeing his happy face and hearing his cheerful greetings is truly devastating.  For the past 18 years, he was more than an employee; he was family. His commitment, loyalty, and vibrant energy touched each of us, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. We are forever grateful for having had Arvind as part of our journey, and it is difficult to imagine our front office without him.
